Cycling London to Shanghai - Part 2 Asia

Hope the knee holds up and another top entry with some stunning pictures.

I hope so too! Yeah I was surprised at how great the views were yesterday and today, didn't really research what was on the road this way just the next destination.

That gorge is awesome. What are your plans for when the journey is over?

Not sure just yet but back to the world of work. Got a couple of options.

Every time I go cycling I think it's strange that two OcUK people are both cycling in China at the same time! But the truth is, you give such motivation - I really haven't done any long rides for several years, but today covered 70km. Pales into insignificance when I consider you cycled 230km at such an altitude!

It's a real shame about your visas, the rules here change such a lot. The only thing I know about getting a visa in HK is get there early - the queues are horrible!

The 230km was a one of to be sure! Only did 105km yesterday but 50km was on dirt road and I did 4,000m ascent which I am quite proud of :) In Xiahe today, lovely town.

I've got an ex colleague going from London to Tokyo, impressive feat from people who can do stuff like this!

Good work OP, been a good read.

Edit: he's easy of Belgrade the chap I worked with.

Ah cool will give that a read in a bit! Shame he won't be able to do Iran due to the rule change :(.

Once again a great read. Hope you enjoy your well earned break in HK and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you don't have any visa issues. Very slow day at work for me and I've literally read from Siri in Iran to the latest blog with Google Earth open. Every time I read another update it leaves me speechless as to what you have achieved!

Nice to see people reading all the blogs! Hopefully my writing has improved as I've gone along...

Another great read, this is such an inspiring effort.

Is there a postal address for offline donations?

I'm sure the charity will accept a checque in the post but I'm not sure of the right address. They have some contact info here; (let me know if you donate so I can add it to my total :) )

Top blog entry chin up when travelling you always have the crap times..... But then the good times come. Keep up the good work

Tell me about it! I've got a feeling it's the meds making things worse. Even though I've rested for two days now I am still very lethargic and a bit moody to be fair :p.

Well done for ploughing on through that. It will be a shame if the last legs continue to be like that. Have a great time in HK you most definitely earned it.

Brilliant as always, and hell I want to try that half doughty half onion bahji any idea what it's called?

I must have missed a blog, I don't remember anything about a painting.

Me too, and marking the route in Google Earth when I can find the places!

Great read, and remember we might not be there in person, but we're behind you all the way! I hope your HK trip gives your wound time to heel properly.

This map might help you out :) The pins are the places I've slept (rough not mega accurate).

The ankles almost shorted thanks! Got my fingers crossed on the Chinese visa at the moment. Catching up on some blogs from my Somalia trip to pass the time.

eidt: forgot the map http://www.121degrees.co.uk/route.html
