Wales approves cannabis-based medicine

Problem being everyone associates it with getting smashed and staring at the walls and it's anyone can talk about rather than a grown up conversation about any medical benefits.

Why would he need a medical condition?

Do you ask the same question to those who drink alcohol?

Did you even read his post? He writes about the positive medical application of Marijuana and then claims to have used it for 14 years. Obviously he's using it for recreational purposes, just like 99% of all users do, but if the only reason you're smoking it is to get high then you shouldn't trot out the medicinal qualities as a reason for legalisation.

It appears that the guy has a pretty narrow minded and misplaced view on cannibus use. Quite the opposite to what he wrote about 'producing brain cells' and 'opens your mind in beautiful ways' :p

Watch its effects on MS sufferers alone, then tell me it should not be legalised again...

This large group of people who seem to think they are entitled to dictate what other people can do to their own bodies without affecting another... it infuriates me.

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in my teens, it was very severe form of it, I was in fits on the floor in pain, I started experimenting with Cannabis for treatment and it helped in so many ways, since then I have always used it, it's great for anxiety due to the Chrohn's as well, it's worked wonders for me.

Why is it narrowminded? because it has affected me in good ways? just because it's my opinion of the plant and what it's done for me doesn't make in narrowminded one bit, ok it's not for EVERYONE, this is just my personal stance on it, same with any other substance, Alcohol for example, doesn't agree with some people, drunks who hurt people etc etc.
There isn't one recorded fatality from cannabis but millions die from Alcohol each year, that alone shows you how messed up it is.
The brain cell part, look up Cannabinoids & Neurogenesis.

My partners uncle had MS and used to take cannabis and it took away the majority of his pain, he has passed away now, but before he did he said the best choice he ever made was to start using Cannabis.

Who gives these large group of people the right to control what we do with our bodies? it's up to us at the end of the day, we are all the same.

Eh, there is different groups of people who use cannabis for various different uses, such as medical, recreational, creativity, etc. Obviously it may be beneficial to certain people, but you don't really want a bunch of "420 blaze it xD" people parading about the potential medical benefits when it's not related to their use, and instead just say it to make them selves feel better about using the so called "harmful drug".

Quite an interesting read on the effects of brain cell growth and canabis use. Doesn't necessarily mean its a good thing though.

I'm still somewhat against legalisation but its good to know it has more potential benifits.

Make it available for more people who need it.

I've got crohn's too. Although the tobacco I have to smoke, because the illegality of cannabis makes it difficult to get it in a medical form (I'd love to be able to get cannabis oil, for example, without buying online), does me harm, I've always found that smoking it has helped me regulate my crohn's disease in addition to the medication that I have to take. I believe, if I could be prescribed it, I wouldn't have to take these pills, side effects of which can include stomach cancer (amongst other serious things). The pills I take are an immune suppressant; my immune system has always been strong, but that's not true for everyone. I would love to never have to take them again because of the long term effects.

Having said that, I've seen negative effects from smoking cannabis, primarily on my memory. I'm not going to lie; my memory has certainly suffered. I've had very very mild paranoia, but I've been smoking it for years. Nor was I incredibly young when I started smoking it, so I've hopefully missed potential effects on the developing brain.

I wish the government would open their mind to the medical benefits to enable people to have a better quality of life. Those who abuse it recreationally, well they're going to do it anyway never mind the legality, as they do now.
