Wales approves cannabis-based medicine

My partners uncle had MS and used to take cannabis and it took away the majority of his pain, he has passed away now, but before he did he said the best choice he ever made was to start using Cannabis.

Who gives these large group of people the right to control what we do with our bodies? it's up to us at the end of the day, we are all the same.

Exactly...

Quite an interesting read on the effects of brain cell growth and canabis use. Doesn't necessarily mean its a good thing though.

I'm still somewhat against legalisation but its good to know it has more potential benifits.

Make it available for more people who need it.

Also studies showing more that it is people with underlying mental health issues who may be drawn to the use of certain substances... rather than the substances themselves bringing out these apparent symptoms.

Why are you against legalisation? Do you have anything to back up your opinion or like most who are against it... is it only from third hand knowledge and rumour than you have garnered your own prejudice?

Every long term weed user i know has serious issues with concentration, are lazy, have zero motivation and generally very strange views, using conspiracy and "corporation" related.
They often also say stuff like "wake up" and "people are waking up to the system".

Just to make things clear i dont oppose this particular ruling. I'm more sharing my experiences first hand of what i have noticed common in pretty much all of the weed users i know.

What do you call long term? I'm none of those things that you describe, although have been known to use the "wake up" terminology, but not about aliens and that sort of crap.

I know people who are long term cannabis users, former long term, current etc and to be honest, they're all the same. The only real difference that I've noticed is that those who do smoke it, or have done in the past, tend to be more tolerant and relaxed. Having said that, I don't live on a horrible estate and most of my friends are well educated.

Drugs are for scum bags, end of.

So you have never taken a drug? pharmaceutical? never drunk alcohol? yes there all drugs, such a narrow minded stereotypical view, "scum bags" going on what I was saying earlier about my partners uncle, he was a lovely man, suffered with MS and took Cannabis to take away his pain, was he a scum bag?

I don't drink and have never used any illegal drugs. Reason I have never used drugs is simple, I am not a smack head. And I don't care if people say weed is different than heroin etc etc, if you use any of them you are scum of the earth.

I have smoked it myself and won't lie I enjoyed it. However the decreasing levels of motivation and increasing level of paranoia were not worth the "fun" in my opinion. I have a few friends who are regular smokers one has moved into stronger drugs as he feels canabis no longer "helps" him like it used to. The changes in personality are considerable in some, withdrawal, mood swings.
I lost a friend who drove stoned straight into a tree. Her own fault yes but that is a reason why I no longer touch it and don't believe it should be legal.

So not at all "third hand knowledge" or a reliance on biased media information. Whilst I do see it can help people I have also seen the damage it can do.

Hence why I said for people who need it. Wanting to get high is not needing it in my opinion. My uncle has crohns and smokes it helps him and I'm thankful for that.

Maybe my experiences have just been unlucky.

Exactly, some people do think a lot deeper when high on the affects of Cannabis, which ultimately a lot of people do come to the conclusion of things happening in the world which is beyond our control, "wake up" to what's really happening out there, the goverment want this plant illegal because they want to control you, believing Cannabis unlocks some sort of higher believing and they don't want you to "think" things like that, I know it sounds a bit crazy, but that's some of the views people see.

I agree with the tolerant and relaxed part, put a bunch of people who are high in a corner, and a bunch of people in a corner who are drunk, who will start a fight first?

You consider aiding the removal of social programming and increase in independence / social activism a bad thing? Why?

You are happy with your comfortable slavery, a comfort that is built on the backs of others?

I'm a hypocrite, I don't deny it... I'm typing this on a mac, from one of the factories with the highest rate of suicide of its workers known. At least I'm not lying to myself as much as I used to.
