Are we accepting poor quality products easier these days, ordered white custom made blinds 90 per blind and they arrive like this, was told that thats how they do it.Told them I purchased the same blinds a few years ago and the sides were white.
So are we accepting cheaper and poor quality products, but paying more?

i remember in 1930s you brought a chest a draws and they were solid built not like this ikea rubbish ya get today

Companies are still using the recession as an excuse to cut down on quality or increase the price, sometimes both.

I remember the old whirpool microwave my parents used to have, it was really sturdy and didn't cost that much.

These days even the decent Panasonic microwaves have flimsy hinges and flimsy push/eject buttons.

I think we are yes but in order to be competitive manufactures need cheaper materials or labour costs.

That said, i just bought a LED 32" TV for the bedroom.. Stunning quality for £210.

Speak for yourself I don't accept substandard anything.

You seem to think that "Made in China" is a synonym for "poor quality."

Please, do elaborate.

Admittedly, Foxconn is a bad example to pick on. However, China is only just starting to shake its poor quality image, too many years of corner cutting.
