Not quite as small as you suggested, but, second generation+ labradoodles barely shed hair.

These threads are getting more and more obscure.

First it was "spec me a system/car", then it was "spec me a TV/Amp/Electronic device", then it was "spec me a pair of slippers/a toothbrush/a shirt/a chair", we have also had "spec me a house/area to live in", I think we have seen "spec me a job/occupation" now it is "spec me a dog".

Next month we will see "Spec me a wife"

Papillon seem to tolerate heat well and don't shed that much.
Mum has one indoors, along with 2 outdoor Border Collies.

Can't smell much when I go in although my sense of smell isn't the best.
Very energetic but tires fairly quickly as they are tiny

Perhaps you should rethink the idea of getting a dog, or let your family decide what they want and then decide yourself if you can live with it.

Left alone half the day and never off the lead doesn't sound great fun for the dog.

Parents just got one and very nice dog (Also well crossbred so less likely to get illnesses etc)

Edit: not being able to be let off the lead sounds terrible! All dogs might have the odd nibble of furniture etc

Could you get someone to walk it during the day?
