are we accepting poor quality products easier these days

Yes, but that's because we want cheaper goods.
You can get high quality stuff but you pay for it.
I don't think we are paying more for less, we're paying less for less, generally. Few exceptions especially in food where weight reduces and prices maintains.

Would you even see them once they're up against the window? I assume its recessed like most are.

Maybe it's just me but I couldn't care less. If it works then its good in my opinion unless it's bought for ascetics in places you can't see.

Companies are still using the recession as an excuse to cut down on quality or increase the price, sometimes both.

I remember the old whirpool microwave my parents used to have, it was really sturdy and didn't cost that much.

These days even the decent Panasonic microwaves have flimsy hinges and flimsy push/eject buttons.

I've got a really expensive panasonic microwave well it was around £220 quid or so.

the fan inside it is uber loud and whilst it does go on and off as needed it seems to be on almost constantly anyway.

it has a full size fan oven assembly in the back which appears to have uneven blades because it vibrates and rattles a fair bit in oven mode.

I've had the white enamel cover off to try and get to the fan blades and the cover is just such a flimsy piece of metal that is almost bent into shape by the screws securing it rather than holding it's own shape. (can't get to the fan blades without pulling out the oven interior from the front though which would mean unconnecting loads of wires so out of me league lol)

it does cook food really well though but it's as loud as you would expect a commercial microwave to be almost unbearably loud tbh, the components might be good but the actual microwave construction is not.

I had cheaper microwaves before this for around £90 and they were rubbish and started making a grinding noise every revolution I suspect it was from the steam cleaning mode allowing moisture to reach the motor lol....

the eject buton is very clunky and loud when opening/closing the door and the door is designed in a way so moisture leaks out the top and bottom which seems to be on purpose but seems bizarre to me as condensation builds up there and has discoloured the paint slightly along the doors seal well lack of seal

In a similar note, I suspect that the vast majority of apps in the android app store are very poor quality, whereas there are only a select few that are actually any good.

Panasonic used to sell premium quality goods and were priced as premium goods as you'd expect. Now they just sell utter rubbish and insult people by charging a premium price just because their goods are badged as Panasonic. I find Panasonic's attitude insulting to loyal customers who don't mind paying for something that will last.

Price and label mean nothing really, I've bought cheap stuff that's lasted years andppricey stuff that's rubbish.

If it's not good enough send it back.. It just looks dusty, possibly from warehouse storage to meoormmaybe it's actually discolouration.. Can't tell really.

I once bought a poker set that was incredible value, but got bad reviews as the chips were often dusty, quick wash an I had full weight poker chips for twenty quid instead of 50 quid plus.

Yes that is just discolouration on the ends, probably from warehouse storage and nothing more. You can even clean that up nicely with a scouring pad or magic eraser I'd imagine.

The question I have though is £90 for a plain white blind?! I had custom blinds made for a shade less than £60 some years back and that was 180cm across! Made in Britain too.

Pretty much this, I was going to write the same myself. Buying cheap means you're more likely to get cheap ****, what a surprise.

Also the buying Chinese means you get **** isn't always true. You can get good quality product from China but you have to pay reasonable money, but most people want a product at a low price point so the cheap manufacturers are used more often that not.

Exactly, fussy or what, wish all I had to worry about were some wood coloured edges on my blinds.

Were they your blinds? Johno and Mynight. Somebody has to care. It's the small things, you think nobody really cares about.

How little things can make a big difference.

I agree with the sentiments about quality, however if them blinds are cut to fit my window correctly, then Id never see the ends of them, therefor that OP example wouldn't bother me at all.

These are made to measure and are sold as top quality, so I expect top quality each one costs just under £100, so for that money I expect a top quality finish.

we ave lots of commercial microwaves in our canteens at work, surprisingly they're much much quieter than normal ones.

no revolving tray either.

Id say yes.
But i never accept something if it's not up to my standards.
I send allot of stuff back as quality control is horrible these days.

Heck if I could charge £100 for blinds I'd be laughing.

I guess people worry about different things differently.

It looks as though it's just a bunch of pre built parts cut to length. I still can't see the issue in parts you can't see being not painted. For example I wouldn't bother decorating the back of the Christmas tree as I never see it. Doesn't make it a poor job.

Maybe I'm just too laid back about these sort of things but I've got enough to stress about.
