It is mainly the FX-9590, the other chips are small moves, but all in the right direction, this price drop becomes official on September 2nd, but were just loosing money and doing it now! Why you ask? Well AMD are a main partner of ours so we support them and when customer buys CPU, they 90% of the time buy other components so the overall basket we hope to make profit, crosses fingers.

PLUS I AM A CRAZY GUY! :D

Don't want to be that guy but just thought I would say, you can delete this after.

Poor IPC or not....that 8320 is an incredible bargain.

Such a shame you can't do Mini ITX builds with AMD FX, as they'd make a fantastic, cheap HTPC & gaming box next to the big TV.

Clearly Gibbo is too crazy for some people - the FX-9xxx prices are now back up higher than the "previously" prices in this post  and 8350 back to its "previous" price.

The 8320 crept up a bit too, to £100.

Correct this now, they will come back down in five minutes or so. :)

Indeed.

Intel have nothing at those prices at all, and the FX8320 at 96 quid is ridiculous.

Well they have the Pentium Anniversary but tbh? I bet they're wishing now that they'd done an I3 instead.

If you totally lop side the benchmarks you can make the Pentium look good, but thread the bugger and it falls on its face.

AMD are quite vicious in this sector because they've owned it for quite a while. This is really, really good.

The market just got interesting, reminds me of the K6-II/III or original Athlon days :D

Yes I agree. Back in those days you could build a very good gaming PC for around £400. Athlon XP, nice cheap Nforce 2 board, cheap DDR and a Radeon 9600 or above.

So in a way those days are coming back, because we've got some little crackers at £100 in the GPU area now.

Theoretically you should now be able to build a gaming PC that mimics the consoles pretty well and out paces them on raw performance :)

All very exciting. I read an article the other day and PC gaming went from 11% to %14+ last year alone. Whilst 3% doesn't sound like much that's quite a few gamers who made the switch :)

My guess is FX8370E will just be operating at a lower voltage, possibly lower leakage parts but probably just the case that yields have improved to a point where they no longer have to use such a high voltage as they do with FX8350/FX8370, so it's probably just a normal chip being undervolted.

If they were going to spin a new chip you'd expect it to be Steamroller based.

Just buy a 8320. God spares a kitten every time some one buys a 8320 instead of a 8350 ;)

Yeah that seems to be recurring opinion, you're definitely not the first person to make that recommendation.

I'm kind of torn between the 8320 and the 8350 or waiting for the 8370 atm. I don't change my CPU very often so I'd ideally like to get the best one possible.
