We had bt installed when we moved in last november, and we got a number that had once been used by a business. This business is still going and thanks to google showing our new number as still linked with them we are getting an insane amount of calls!

I have talked to the website owner, a young girl who does mobile dog grooming, and she is at a loss as to how to actually get google to do anything. I have tried but there seems to be no way to actually talk to a real human about it. I have tried 3 or 4 forms and they just get rejected without stating a real reason!

Does anyone know how to actually make a complaint to a real person at google or is this a no go?

ps BT are not helpful and do not see it as a problem... they want money to have a new number of course!

Nightmare, how much cash do bt want to give you a new number? If it's not ridiculous I'd bite the bullet but first I'd try to reach someone higher in the bt structure.

Email Google, and tell them for every call you get regarding the dog grooming business, you will kill 17 kittens.

What do you mean, Google showing your number as linked with them? Can you give an example, or a censored screenshot or something? Google aren't a phone directory. If they've picked up the number somewhere, it's because it's on a website, or a Google places listing or something like that.

8 Savoy cabbage leaves, stalks removed
2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for greasing
small knob of butter
8 skinless Kitten Limbs
8 pancetta slices or thin streaky bacon
plain flour, for dusting
375g pack puff pastry
1 egg, beaten

For the gravy
1 shallot, finely chopped
1 tbsp plain flour
2 handfuls blackberries
1 tbsp Crème de Cassis (optional)
1 tbsp port
Large glass of red wine
250ml Kitten stock

Kitten Pie.

How is the phone number linked to them? Is it on a website or via google maps?

It is the result that comes up if you google "dog grooming ******" in the town or if you google the actual website of the groomers. The link comes up but the phone number on the right is wrong.. and of course 99% of people use that number NOT the one on the actual website.

BT want £50.... they say its not an issue and just dont answer the phone WTF?

Isn't that box on the right from google maps info? You can get that changed I think.

Ahhh i didnt know how google works tbh.. never had need to.

I have made a request for an alteration to the phone number on the map peg thing... ( places ) maybe that will work? :p

It can be, but it tends to incorporate other information as well. And if the information is coming from a Maps/Places listing claimed by the grooming business, they'll have to change it.

I'd pay that, to be honest. (Though you can probably still talk them out of charging it, if you're persistent.) Google won't be the only source of that number if it used to be a business line!

If its a small business and the girl isn't in the know about Google I wouldn't expect her to have claimed it. Its worth a shot if its the correct information.

I noticed when I Google'd dog groomers for surrey it had ads with details in too though.

although joking, this is actually a good idea, change your current business number to another,

then use the number for the dog grooming business, pair of clippers and a van and your sorted

Sounds like work. Just set up a premium rate number and have all calls to your number redirected to it. Hopefully the income will cover the cost of a second line and give you a tidy profit. :D

Submit an EU right to be forgotten request? Might apply to phone numbers.

(Might cause some issues for the business though if no one can find them via google.
