So...if someone post something negative about Nvidia get their name change to with Nvidia in it, does that mean people that keep on insisitng "AMD is just as bad" for justification should get their names changed to with AMD in it as well?

Hold on a minute, let me get this straight.
A thread was posted that could quite easily of taken as a deliberate trolling thread, and due to one thing and another Ltmatt had his name and avatar changed by OCUK I assume as a bit of a joke.
Another thread which I'm sure by some could be seen as a deliberate trolling thread was posted up asking if the name change should be permanent.
So even if this thread isn't suppose be trolling, anyone who posts saying it is a bad idea for OCUK to change his name even as a joke is lambasted and looked down upon.
Sometimes this forum just cracks me up.

I found the whole thing funny to see tbh, but i don't think the name change should be a permanent thing.

They think OcUK are trolling Matt, thats their issue with it.
He is the #1 troll in this section and right now its pro amd on this forum, in past yes it was Nvidia.
The joke (give and take) is not cyberbulling and I do not see how anyone can call for the Mod to be banned like someone on last page did.
I would bet his nick will be changed back and TBH lucky he has never been banned for good.

This sort of mudslinging is the reason this forum can get quite heated, its also this sort of thing that 'as others have said' seems to get missed by forum staff, which just perpetuates the situation because people know they can get away with trolling individuals on the forum in exactly this way.
A lot of animosity toward individuals by a few around here and its allowed to run rampant.

Completely agree. It always seems to be the same half dozen people who post in every thread and try to turn it into a green-v-red personal slanging match. The bit I don't get is that Matt has been notably absent from all the threads that turned toxic in the past few months, but is still called out and ridiculed by the trolls. I really don't get why someone who spends so much time helping so many on these forms (including me several times) is being singled out for public humiliation.
As for everyone saying "it's just a bit of fun, grow up" - can you honestly say it wouldn't bother you if your name on here was changed without your permission to have a go at you? I know I wouldn't be happy.
No. I have more things to worry about than a name on a forum. If it was something offensive then sure but not having a brand name added to my name.

I don't agree with messing about with somebody's account in this way. Either deal with an issue within the defined rules applied to everyone, or don't and let this forum slide ever further into the rapidly deepening cesspit.
