Has anyone just stopped drinking? I binge and after losing my phone at the weekend and waking up in an alleyway with borderline hypothermia think it's about time I gave up... I find it too easy to go from a beer to 6 double whiskys. Time to give sobriety a go!

Add 6 bottles of beer, and a shedton of double vodka rebulls and jaegermeister.

Maybe you should stop attempting to rationalise the effects the alcohol had by retelling the amount of it there was, and accept you have issues with alcohol, and your inability to handle personal consumption.
Then start to take steps to deal with your issues.

Sobriety might be a good idea if you are incapable of stopping yourself at a set stage or point.
There are centres and lots of information and help available for you.
Good luck with more sucessful drinking in the future, and try not to kill yourself with idiocy.

Thanks for a constructive post. Think stopping is better option for me. I'm aware it's an issue, as soon as I have a few it turns into more and more. Taking out the first drink is probably the best option.

I stopped drinking regularly around 5 years ago. Now I drink on special occasions but then, it's getting less and less. I just don't enjoy it anymore, hangovers are too brutal.

Think the last time I had a drink was New Year when I saw some friends that I don't normally see.

I used to drink to get wasted, so that was always what happened. The inability to stop at one or two caused me a lot of problems so I quit for 5 years, didn't have a drop.

After 5 years of being teetotal and basically sorting my life out I decided I could occasionally allow myself one or two, so that's what I do now. Usually just one drink which is cool because then I can drive, but if I don't have to drive I'll push the boat out and have another. The one exception was an all expenses paid trip to Paris where I got very drunk.

A period of sobriety was essential for me because I learned how to live without booze being part of my life. This has been going on for 2 years now and responsible drinking works well for me. I know what'll happen if I drink too much, why go down that road again?

Yep, just got sick of it. Now waking up fresh on a Sunday is great. Give sobriety a go. Your sleep, your health and your wallet will thank you for it.

Haven't been drunk for about 6 years I think.

I used to binge drink 1-2 times per week and always woke up feeling like trash the next day, finally just decided to pack it in. I'll drink occasionally (Maybe twice per year), to the point where I'm merry and have a laugh, just won't get drunk where I don't know what I'm doing or where I am.

I haven't drank anything over the summer, but I've got another freshers coming up so I guess you could say I'm saving it for that.

I drink quite a lot, but have no problem stopping. Doesn't bother me at all.
