US: The Last Ship

Trust them to make the finale episode good. Although....
Taking over the ship with a single handgun? You having a laugh? Why didn't they jump that guy when he shot the scientist for crying out loud. I know their guard was down because they were too pleased with themselves but still!

It was a single guy on the bridge, but he said his deputies were throughout the ship holding key areas and hostages

Missus and I finally got round to watching the last 3 episodes last night (double finale last Friday - Sky One). Wow, just when I felt they dipped at that "we are US NAVY saving the world from Tyrant" episode, the finale ended real strong.

Looking forward to Season 2 now.

Was watching this from the start (on NowTV), and it started very well, had a very tedious middle two or three episodes and then worked well at the end of S1 (was kinda hoping it was a longer S1 , 10 episodes feels short now hahaha)

Really like the captain, and even the "dodgy" scientist (as above that's his acting as well as his character hahaha), Im just not convinced how much longer this can go (without it becoming WD part II, which Im not a particularly big fan of)

I'm amazed this ever got to be a TV series because that would mean somebody must have read the book all the way through to the end - I tried and only got about 30 pages in.

Good story, terrible author.

Looking forward to season two now :)

I have to say I really enjoyed season 1, as another poster said there were some dodgy aspects but all in all a good show. I was concerned after the first episode that it was going to go too far down the schmultzy, interpersonal relationships route but I think it's provided enough to create depth to the characters whilst focussing on the actual virus situation itself.

Looking forward to Season 2, just hope the direction they're heading doesn't take them too far down the route of the well trodden stereotypes. There's potential to tell the same old story in a new and interesting way and I hope they pull it off.

I don't even think I can be bothered to watch this any-more tbh.

feels like too much time passed between seasons, I can't even remember the end of season 1.

I just found my self wanting to skip through the latest episodes of season 2

Just caught up with the latest two episodes.... I was bored. Not sure I'll stick with this...

was wondering why so much bumpage and talk on this series I got bored of the premise and acting early on and gave up was going to give it another go but think I wont bother thanks

I find it hard to like any of the characters. I especially hate the dopey looking navy grunt. It does feel very 'Amerrriiicccccaaa' as stated earlier in the thread. Also, when the dude is holding off the bad guys by himself from the walkway, I'm sure they used the same film sequence twice when he shoots down on them...

Haha, yeah I was the same. Was scared my memory was fading with age, so it's good to know I wasn't alone! I was literally like, 'er... what? WHAT IS HAPPENING? I HAVE NO IDEA'... and thus got nothing out of the first two episodes of the second season. I'd have to refresh my memory and watch again, which probably isn't going to happen :o.

It seems to be a new trend with TV series where they don't recap at all from last year. It's ridiculous and i have resorted to hunting down recap videos on YouTube or worse case re-watching the last episode of the previous season!
