My H80i was relatively quiet when I first had it, things stayed cool as well I've only seen a max temp of 50 degrees C during intense gaming sessions, but out of the blue the fans are now running at 2300RPM. Any ideas as to why this may have happened?

What OS are you using? if its 8.1 sometimes the link software can be funky can you manually reset the profile in corsair link?

For windows 8.1 there is beta software of corsair link. Also I don't know why but my corsair h100i seems to lose control of fans too and for some reason it forgets colour of illumination that I set after shut down. If you don't have windows 8.1 you can try to reinstall corsair link and set it up again or you can plug the fan into motherboard fan header and control it from bios. You can also buy fan controller for even better control. Hope this helped

You also mention that it happen after a while so maybe your system is overheating and corsair link software it bumping up fans to keep it cool?

What version on the Link software are you using ? some of the versions do have the odd wobble so if you have recently upgraded the link software it may just be that. I have had this issue in the past.
