*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I haven't done it yet but the guides online for changing sticks make it look easy enough and as there isn't a 'void if removed' sticker it does seem the easiest way to deal with this. If any other problems arise with the controller then would be easy enough to put the official sticks back in to return it.

i never bought covers for my DS4 because I used them with the DS3 last time round and I didn't like them, they would fall off very easily mid game.

telling people to buy covers isn't a perfect fix, a lot of people don't like the covers.

sending them back to sony or buying additional thumbsticks to fix it yourself is the better solution for me.

The gameseek covers do not come off, and improve tactile feedback (less slippy). I have been using them intensively for a couple of months, and if they don't come off during a Diablo III session, then they never will.

Sending a controller back is a pain, and that will never change.

I certainly recommend the Xbone sticks, pop the old ones back in if I ever need to return. Easy enough.

It seems everyone who has done it recommends it. Thats why I got xbox sticks delivered last week even though my PS4 only arrived today :D Unless I find the PS4 sticks terrible I will keep them until the weekend at least so I can just enjoy game time of an evening.

I dont see why people are having the problem, each to their own yes but so far the only problem I have is a squeaky Right Trigger

Considering how fast some people found the sticks wore they would be on their third, fourth, fifth... controller now so makes sense to replace the sticks with more durable ones and avoid hassle of keep sending them back to Sony.

What everyone chooses to replace them with is personal preference but can't really argue against replacing them.

My PS4 sticks were still in immaculate condition from launch I just prefer the Xbox sticks so fitted them. For me it makes a big improvement.

It does seem that everyone that has tried them likes them and those that have not don't see the point. It's individual preference at the end of the day but they are worth a try for the sake of £4 and a little effort.

Yeah don't get me wrong each to their own, but I am not the one for tinkerin with things. Especially how much you buy a new one for if I ever broke one.

But from reading other posts if it ever happened to me (touch wood it doesn't) then I would probs do the same.

I was thinking of getting some xbox one sticks to replace the ds4 ones. What are the best ones to get? I see so many different suppliers for them on places like ebay, is the quality generally the same from different sellers?

I don't have a ps4 yet but did notice a bit of slippage when I used a ds4 around my friends so I would definitely like to try using a ds4 with xbox one sticks before I get too accustomed to them and have to adjust to using different sticks.
