My trip to bike park wales is finally comming this sunday woot! The new a470 jump track looks awesome, anyone done the rock ramp/drop thing half way down? Watched loads of tube vids but no one does the rock ting ting. The mega might come back abit outta shape i think :D

Yep, hit it blind as I didn't even know there was a chicken line. (rain was coming down sideways, so lateral vision went to pot)
Edit: Not entirely true, I did see it, but far too late to stop :p

Help!

This converting from triple to double is not working out very well! The inside of the crankbolt is too long so the bolts never fully tighten up. I went to my LBS who gave me some to try which was very good of him but unfortunately they were the same size.

I went online and nowhere seems to give the size. So ordered some Shimano bolts from a double crankset thinking these would fit but again, they are the same size!

These are the bits i'm talking about:

Am I doing something wrong? If not, can anybody show me which ones I need? My crank is a Deore M590.

Cheers

You probably need singlespeed bolts.
"Double" bolts could be from a road bike double where the bolts go through both rings (like the 2 largest rings on a triple mtb).
A double mtb crankset has different bolt points for each ring.

You can also bodge it by either filing them down or using washers on the opposite side to the chainring (if you put the washers against the chainring it might move them out of alignment for the gears)

got my chinese troy lee moto shorts today.. look really good quality.. only thing is the color is more cyan blue thought itd be darker, but happy with them at least!

Thanks guys but I read that single ring bolts wouldn't work as the pressure from the ring was on the bolt and not the outer part. I'll order them anyway and see if they fit.

My Troy Lee jersey also came today from the same place. Really happy with the quality. I'll give it a few rides before ordering another one just in case.

Anyone had a look at the new Canyon Spectral? http://www.canyon.com/_en/mountainbikes/bike.html?b=3558

They've changed the geometry slightly from last year and looks pretty similar to the Spitfire/Aeris.

I was looking at the Spectral as well as the Aeris, but What Mountain Bike magazines's review of the 2014 Spectral said that the frame was small and you may want to think about sizing up.

It makes me nervous to order a bike from Germany if I can't be sure that I'm ordering the correct size.

Think I'm going to have to raise a complaint about the sizing on my jersey, everyone else's are okay..

No idea what you mean but you're going down from 2 rings on the spider to 1 so single ring bolts should be okay.

Have a look at the e13 bolts I think that's what I got and they have measurements. They also have torx both sides. I can't emphasise enough how poo the slot design ones are.

I'm new to this :) I don't know what's "right".

Ah, well - sizing would be in the right ballpark - but compare geo numbers of the different bikes you are interested in. It should be easy to disceern which come up bigger / smaller than the others.

Aliexpress is really good at issue resolution, just raise the issue.
