What radiator fans are best?

I've had Scythe Gentle Typhoons 1450 rpms... for 5 years nearly

6 of them across 2 of those type RADs and not had a single issues or ever even noticed them spinning

The corsair SPs seem to get a lot of love. Especially with the different coloured rings, Because the colours make it better ofc.

What are you going to be cooling with that rad?
I have 3 x 360 EK PE's for 2 780s and 4770k 4.2Ghz, 850rpm fans on push only.
EK PE's are 40mm thick and have high density so I figure you could find some good low rpm fans and they would work just as well. And would be much quieter, even in push/pull.
Seen quite a few builds with these:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Noiseblocker NB-eLoop Fan B12-2 - 120mm (1300rpm) £13.99
Total : £16.27 (includes shipping : £1.90).

I replaced my scythe gentle typhoons with the noiseblockers. They're much quieter and can't notice a difference in temps with the slightly lower fan speed. Highly recommended. I replaced the scythes because one had developed an annoying buzzing after 18months.

I'd definitely recommend noiseblockers to anyone wanting a good quality and silent fan.

Noiseblocker e-Loops B3 are highly recommended these days as a direct replacement of the GTs fans which appear not to be available anymore.

gah, im going to have to cancel my order of paranhas, what about their static pressure (i dont know much about it but im pretty sure paranhas are good), is it worth my cancelling and getting noiseblockers instead?

thanks for the info btw

ive got one system with all sp120 performance editions on a fan controller. they are like a jet engine taking off at max speed but ive turned them to a point where i can here the harddrive and they perform really well. they are on 2 x 240mm ek pe rads. the front intake in push and the roof exhaust in pull.

my 2nd rig ive just fitted all viper pwm yesterday. before i had a mismatch of cm, corsair and fractal fans and i already notice a slight drop in temps and far quieter because of the pwm and i think the anti vibration rubber mounting pins help as well.. even at max rpm they arent that bad tbh. i just have an h60 with 1 in pull exhausting air with 2 on the side panel directing air straight at the gpu and vrm mobo area.

The thing is is that ive got paranhas on their way, so if someone insists that another fan is better considering (used on radiator/ CFM / noise) then ill probably stick with them, but please continue to give feedback thanks

Most fans are fine provided you have a good fan controller to keep speeds low, with the v3 youll probally only need about 800rpm :)

I agree with this. Get a fan controller, it's the speed that makes the noise and a controller will let you set it to any RPM you like.

I like Corsair SP120 fans for rads, but to be fair I haven't exactly tried them all out.

SP120's set at 900 RPM, and job done! Cool and quiet.

Zalman ZA1225ASL case fans (silent and respectable air flow) Ive 24 of them.

Stats are

• Air volume at full speed (12V): CFM ±10% 59.1
• Noise level at full speed (12V): dB(A) 26
• Fan speed at full speed (12V): RPM ±10% 1600
• Power consumption (W): 4.2
• Weight: 164g
• Power connector: 4-pin
• Bearing type: Sleeve
• Fan depth: 25 mm

but in honesty you spec fans for your chosen rad.

Do you want silence or performance.

ive 8 delta 120mm 230cfm jobbies that will cool anything but they make your ears bleed at 59 bd's each !!!

I favour Noctuas, myself. Not the highest SP, but still pretty good and by far the quietest at that level of performance. They're probably the best buy for a good balance of cooling and quiet.
Failing that, the Corsairs are pretty good for performance at reasonable prices.
