new card for bf4 and new upcoming games

I have i5 4.6 ghz 8gb but no gpu
looking to buy a card for bf4 now as i looking to get back into pc gaming,
been looking at these two for my price range should i go for 4gb or 2gb.

Asus GeForce GTX 770 DirectCU OC 2048MB GDDR5

I would take the 770 since its a better card and the 760 would never use 4gb of ram by itself.

However, have you ever considered a AMD 280x? Has more memory than the 770 and I think its even cheaper. It should also perform better in BF4 with Mantle.

You would need at least SLI 760's to use most of that 4gb ram. A 760 alone does not have enough power by itself to make use of it.

Even then I don't know if 2 would use it.

I'd wait for the 2nd sept and see what the new 285 brings to the table, the Nvidia gpus are pricier, but still there or there a bouts.

I forgot to say I would like to stick with nvidia as I got a nvidia 3d vision LCD.

would the 770 gtx 2gb be better then 760 gtx 4gb but does bf4 need at least 3gb.

Save up for a bit longer and buy a 290, the 280x and the competing Nvidia cards in that price range are not worth the price when you look at how cheap you can get a 290 for these days.

You don't need more than 3gb in BF4 unless you are playing at some high resolutions.

The 770 is better than the 760. The 760 alone can never use 4gb of ram so its a waste. I'm playing BF4 on medium with a 7790 1gb card until my replacement 780 arrives.

What resolution is your monitor?

On bf4 on max settings at 1920x1200, I'm seeing a max vram use of 1900mb.

but looking to upgrade monitor aswell to Acer Predator GN246HLBBID 24" 144Hz 1ms Gaming Widescreen Monitor.
