subaru imprezas

i would want aftermarket management in it too.

Dont see any problem with mapping on 95 ron, either. Why do you think this is such a bad idea ?

Sorry why is it pointless ?

I have put full aftermarket ecu solutions in quite a lot of my cars. Custom mapping and maf delete has many many benefits.

95 Ron and 97 Ron on a custom map is likely equal to a 15bhp tops difference.

And yes we get bp ultimate and texaco super in Northern Ireland.

You don't need aftermarket management on an impreza to run mafless.

If you can find someone that knows what they're doing to map carberry then you can run, MAFless, Launch control, anti lag and switchable maps on the factory Ecu.

Fwiw : fuel makes a huge difference, especially if you run meth in your fuel like Kosta did

bit late now but there was a big car thing on in junction1 antrim today with loads of jap stuff trundling past for most of the day - loads and loads of imprezas, few evos, ?s15, red GTR with black bonnet and ?a couple of drift cars brought in on trailers

I'm aware the ecu can do that lark. But I'd personally prefer to rip it out and fit a link or vipec. Have fitted a few of these now

I'm aware fuel and the likes of Sunoco if your loaded can help massively but the difference in 95 Ron and 97 Ron won't be much on a road car. Bit more ignition timing but all in all not massive difference and certainly zero issues running on 95 Ron if mapped for it. In saying that I would still map for bp ultimate

Seems like money needlessly spent to me.

A link or vipec is going to gain absolutely bugger all in terms of driveability or reliability unless you're running insane amounts of boost.

I wasn't thinking along the lines of 102+ octane race fuel like Sunoco.

20% Methanol mixed with Vpower is all you need and Methanol is cheaper than standard unleaded

Love my Scooby to bits. 2005 STi, bought completely stock but now running 350bhp, launch control, etc.

Driven quite a few high performance cars and the Scooby puts a smile on my face every single time.

As for Fuzz saying don't touch the internals.....modifying the car is one of the joys of ownership.

What's needed on that grey car to get a bit more life out of it. I know it won't set my world on fire but a bit more than stock would be nice

So it's already got the best exhaust on it and also the PPP so already has uprated fuel pump etc., if that was my car, I'd do the following mods...

Ported headers
Decat downpipe (go for 3" if you don't mind modifying the centre section of the blitz exhaust)
Cosworth panel filter
RaceDynamix remap

You should see 350bhp easily after those mods and it'll cost you less than £1000 in total.

And the great thing about a Racedynamix map is that Duncan charges less for subsequent remaps than the original.

This is true of pretty much any remap, as long as you go back to whoever did the last remap. If you go the Ecutek route it's because there's a one-off unlock fee from Ecutek, but only the mapper knows that key. If you take the mapped car to a different mapper, they'll have to pay another unlock fee.

No they don't, the "tuner licence" is placed in the ECU once and once only.
The map on the ECU can only be edited by the original tuner.
If another tuner wants to "have a go" they have to load in their own map, they can't edit mine! But doing so doesn't use up a licence key (which is the bit you have to buy from EcuTek )

If it's an unmolested ECU we charge a flat fee no matter how long it takes, this includes the licence fee.
If it already has a licence then we do it on a time only basis and charge by the hour. All going well I can wrap one up in one to two hours.
