Thanks for this 8pack. I always prefer real world results rather than ones pulled from an air conditioned room with golden CPUs.
 
I still have the golden CPU's. I never do air con reviews. With good CPU no need. a Golden 5960X is like 4.9 on dual rad cooler.

Similar with GPU never air con ever and I only review the sample given by a manufacturer.

With these chips Uncore makes a big difference!!! So its important also. You get 4g Uncore and 4.4 this is like 4.6+ chip with 3.3 uncore.

Then memory is also important 2666 C10 and above your set.

I thought bit-tech gave delta T rather than absolute temperatures.
 
With good silicon yes. With average no. Certainly not in hot ambient. I tested when temps outside where like 23-24C.
 
Hi 8Pack!

Expert advice on choosing 5820k or 5930k paired with 1-2GPUs and 3000MHz GSkill? Do you think binning will favour the 5930k for overclocks or does it call come down to luck?
 
In my experience 20+ chips I found 5930K reached higher. For sure some luck element too though as always.

Do you think I'll manage 4.5GHz easily on a 5820k with good cooling?

8Pack have you tried Avexir Platinum by any chance ?? Gibbo said they are Hynix and all
 
Not tried!!! Gibbo wont let me as he wants em to remain in stock!! I know very ragtag!!! I told him so!!

No I dont think you will get 4.5 easy at all.

OK, I give in, the constant river of tears coming from your corner is pushing me to the edge. Go and get a kit and test it, BUT ONLY ONE KIT! :)

From what I've seen you can expect 4ghz. 4.2ghz if you're lucky and 4.5 if the sun shines out of your *ahem*
