i7 4970K - Worth it?

Howdy,

Need some advice, I currently have an i5 4670k - It's a good chip, been running at 4.4Ghz stable for over a year, nothing wrong with it at all.

I suspect I already know the answer to this question but is it worth upgrading to the i7 4970K?

I use the PC for work to VPN/RDP/Gaming machine, not to mention the mrs uses it for photography/photo editing and we both use it for music and office 2013.

What do we think? (My spec is in my sig)

ha! A VERY good question. No it doesn't but there's a niggle in my mind wondering if the extra speed potential and cores would make it run even faster!

I would say not. I struggled to justify mine but just about manage to as I will be wading through years of hi def camcorder footage and as I didn't have a cooler, knew I would need to add one to the cost of an i5 anyway to get it to the speed I wanted for FSX.

They ain't been out for a year so not likely that neither + the fact there i7

i5-4670k if you read his sig ....
