hi guys, got a new build and decided to put my own windows 7 instead on to replace windows 8.
Well on trying to install drivers for my gpu, i get no sound through hdmi connected to the gpu.
but i do get sound through hdmi on the onboard realtek graphics.
i think there is a clash between realtek and the amd audio drivers.
but when i install realtek, it automatically reinstalls itself on startup.

Any suggestions

Don't you just need to set AMD HD Audio (or whatever it's called) as the default playback device?

If I remember correctly you can do this by right clicking on the volume icon.

But for me it was this otherway round, the audio went to the TV speakers when I hooked my PC up to my TV for the first time, and I had to change the playback device back to my Xonar DX/Speakers.

wish it was that easy, tried all that.
everytime i uninstall realtek,it just reinstalls on boot up.

ive tried setting default driver to amd...

also has a picture of my tv in the sound options which looks enabled but will not let me test or play sound through the testing options.

literally pulling my hair out!

I'm having the same problem, the only way I can get sound through hdmi is by installing the default windows driver for hdmi audio, if I install the AMD driver then I get nothing and can't even configure it.
