whats your favorite TV series of all time?

The X-Files

Add that to my list. I used to watch it as a kid. But I've never seen every show in the complete run. I should really get it on DVD and do a marathon.

Also adding Scandinavian crime / Nordic Noir / police procedural shows to my list. The Bridge, Arne Dahl, that sort of thing. I like things like Inspector Morse, Frost, Lewis, Columbo... slow burning detective crime shows. I think modern British shows have gone the way of CSI American stuff, which is just garbage. I think the last police procedural from the UK I liked was Rebus. Played by Ken Stott from series 2 on, who was also played Chappell in The Vice (which was alright as far as British cop shows go).

Band of Brothers is the best for me. I watched the series again recently and forgot how good it was. The blu-ray quality is also up there with the best of them. The whole production was a masterpiece on so many levels.

Cant pick between:

GOT
Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett)

I am a big fan of Jeremy Bretts sherlock, and GOT!

My stock answer for this question is Sopranos, I really loved it and I dont think any of the excellent newer series have quite surpassed it for me.

Going back in time a little, Brideshead revisited was excellent.

Edit - Twin Peaks is certainly worth a mention, outstanding.

All time fav for me has to be The Good Life, I have the complete DVD collection.
After that it's...
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
My Wife and Kids.

only fools n horses
the equaliser
kung fu
columbo
the waltons:D
kojak
Miami vice

loads of others

EDIT: anyone remember midnight caller? a late night radio talkshow host and callers would call in,sometimes saying they have just murdered ect and he would go investigate
