NVIDIA Announces Game24, Massive 24-hour Celebration of PC Gaming

I am going for 5820k so will buy one 980 Classy and I will be happy.
I think that we will see 980s at around 500-750£, rough estimate.
And 970s at 350-450£.
I prefer to be a pessimistic and then have a nice surprise, rather than be optimistic and be disappointed.

10% faster than 780Ti / Black Edition at 1080p to 1440p.

+5% scenario dependent / -5% slower at 1600p and above.

Calling it now. :p

Nah, i doubt it.

I recon the 980 (or whatever it is) will generally sit between Titan and 780Ti and not be a power house of a card but be priced well (or as well as nVidia price).

He's just telling the truth :D:D:D:D:D.

What's really telling is no one uses a gtx680 these days but plenty still have there 7950/7970. Is this because the Nvidia card aged pretty badly compared to the higher specced Hd 7 series. Amd are often more for less these days.

What's telling is if you say no-one uses a 680 these days its because they have money to upgrade. AMD people still use their 7950/70 as you'll find they don't have the money to change as much as NVidia users, think its jealousy really.

Absolute tosh as the 7970 was more on release than the gtx680 lol. Many around here have bought both and moved on.

Many of us have the money, but not the inclination, to buy £300+ graphics cards. And we're not afflicted with brand loyalty :p

Personally, I'd have no second thoughts about spending £500 on a cat, but I'd never spend anywhere near that much on a gfx card.

It's not jealously it's a question of priorities. And how much you want it.

You find that a lot of people with (some) money in the bank aren't the type who just throw it around ;) Unless you won the Euromillions or something.

I was just teasing and I feel a few people will be surprised at the price (in a good way). The 256bit bus (if true) tells me this is a mid range card and won't be a 780Ti beater and probably close to a 780 in performance. I will take a stab at the 980 being £320 ish.

no big events make own cause no much games due out .

not much buzz about on these cards so small refresh silly prices to be expected :p

LOL
So you think a AMD user's all have less money than a guy who buys a Nvidia GPU??
Where you come up with this madness?

Pfft. I bet AMD users make more money dealing smack on their council estates than he earns in a year anyhow. The DSS payments are just a bonus :p

So wild stab at pricing anyone?

Cost of the party, cost of the marketing, over charge for something that should never cost that much = $lots.

Also. LOL at the 7970 launch 680 argument. The 7970 was priced on the 3gb 580. Exactly the same price, too, £439.

If the 680 was cheaper at launch it was because the 7970 was already out. We've all seen what Nvidia charge when they launch a new high end card first (Titan any one?!?!?).

Thats ok, you just go back to making up drivel about 680's not aging well and how wonderful the 7950/70's are as they are still in use and no-one has a 680 anymore.

I never said the 7950/70 was wonderful but it's a fact you got more bang for your buck especially if going multi gpu. The reason people are not happy or worried about the 980 is because of the 256 bit bus as 4k is becoming cheaper and cheaper. The 7970/50 in this instance are still good cards where as the gtx680 started to struggle at 1600p and above.

AMD have plenty of time done price drops or released a tweaked card before a nvidia release, the 265 just before the 750ti is the most resent example.

They could have easily drooped the price the 7970 just before 680 release if they care about there "better value" crown. They only droped the price in the end as the 680 and 670 where selling really well

You're either trolling, a huge fan boy or an idiot. People don't use 680s anymore because the 2gb of vram and 256 bit bus wasn't enough. Source I'm an ex 680 owner who upgraded to a 780 cause of lack of vram at 1440p. AMD users haven't upgraded from a 7970/50 as they were so future proof - the I regret not getting a 7970 a year ago instead of my 680 as I could have crossfired rather than upgraded.
