As above, I have a mild overclock but the stock fan is noisy under load.

Any alternatives/suggestions that are quiet and wont cost a bomb. My case has loads of space so that isn't an issue but I don't really want to go down the route of expensive water cooling even though my case supports a cooling radiator block at the top.

I liked the look of the Coolermaster all in one units but looking through the water cooling section I gather they are not much cop.

Something cool and quiet would be great without having to be a rocket scientist to install and setup.

Any idea on noise levels on them both?

I am liking the look of the Corsair, although the Akasa seems to have some blinding reviews

I have the corsair and as long as you manage the fan profile for the H80i the noise level on normal use is very quiet but does get louder under load as you would expect as for the Akasa I have not used this but it does have some very good reviews and I have seen it in action and again when not under load it is very quiet and the sound ramps up under load.

As for the H80i I have changed the fans and used some SP 120 quiet editions mainly for the colour rings they come with but they are quieter than the original ones but don't spin as fast so they would be.

Another thing to consider is the temperature in your case and how your build is setup eg if your case has a vent under your PSU make sure the fan is pointing down so it uses air from out side the case and does not deposit warm air into your case, front side and top fans if you can fit a few of these and have them spinning at around 300 rpm they will be silent this will allow you to push and pull air through your case and help with general temperature control.

No my PSU is located at the bottom of the case so no issue's there. I also have to large fans front and back with full frontal ventilation as well as top were I assume a water cooling rad would fit. The case is also wide so it is not restrictive for the size of the heat sink.

Really I would just like something that doesn't sound like it is ready for take off under load.

that sounds like you just need to setup a fan curve to manage the fan speed if you don't have a massive over clock on your CPU then you don't all ways need to have fans running at full speed as its about the amount of air they can push or pull through the RAD, you should be able to get it just how you want it with some testing.

Trust me I am considering going of on a tangent and just purchasing a Corsair H100 cooling system.

My case supports it and it would be more future proof imo. The cpu/mobo I have was just bought to last me 10/12 months on a tight budget. I am thinking if I spend more on something like the H100 I can use it with my next set up.

The Corsair AIO's are very good IMO and if you have room they can take upto 4 high pressure slow running fans...
