'Silly walks' at Buckingham Palace

He will no doubt be quick timing in to see the CO this morning! Right before before frog marched down the the guard room for some light exercise!

If the magazine is empty, it's not loaded.

In fact strict definition of loaded means there is a round in the chamber.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the whole magazine in means it's loaded was a load of twoddle.

I'm sure that mucking about on duty is likely going to lead to punishment - let alone doing it in public at one of the worlds most popular places.

He's probably doing press ups with a corporal on his back, literally, as we speak.

Hopefully he faces harshest punishment possible. Stupid *****.

I'm sure he will be punished, but at the end of the day it was just a bit of harmless fun and probably put a smile on most people's faces who have seen it. His mates probably had a laugh too, although I doubt they are laughing now.

I doubt there was a round of ammo within 20 yard of that rifle and even if there was the safety catch would have been on at all times.

Safety catch on, finger nowhere near the trigger, pointing upward, even if it was loaded it wouldn't be chambered. It's like people think guns start aiming and shooting people on their own.

And it's not an "SA80" it is an L85 (probably L85A1 to be specific, all the L85A2 are likely to be in service in warzones). The SA80 is the family of weapons, not a specific weapon. God damn CoD getting it wrong.

It'll be an A2, all the infantry have A2's they don't take them off us after a tour, I doubt if there are any A1's left. I and my unit never carried ammunition on guard doing ceremonial duties.
