How Much Sleep do you get per night?

I got six hours last night which isn't too uncommon for me, but I usually try get about 7-8. I can run on empty quite well. Maybe running on full is just **** so there's no difference? :p

edit: I need a GD style response...

The question I want to ask is how do you sleep? My favourite position is the bat and I hang from the light fixture in my room.

I expect the 9 hours and 50 minutes is time spent in bed, rather than time spent sleeping.

As I don't expect you fell asleep the moment you got in to bed.

Not sure where the OP is getting 9-10hrs as recommended as a quick look around online shows 7-8hrs is recommended for adults, and longer for children.

I normally get 6.5-7.5 depending on the day of the week, which impacts on when I need to get up.

I'm a clinical insomniac, only been free of it for past few years following the right treatment. After years of high dose Amitriptyline, a bright spark at the Neuro Science unit of John Radcliffe hospital did a House M.D on me and fixed things.

My usual is 7 hours nowadays, which is great considering I use to go up to 5 days without any sleep.

Depends how busy my day has been and what's going round in my head. On a good night, 8 hours. If not, its more like, 5-6.

6 hours usually but I'm under doctors orders to get 9+. Unfortunately my son doesn't agree with the doctor.

If you don't mind me asking, how did they fix it?

I keep falling into the trap of going for a nap when I get home from work. The 'nap' is about 2-3 hours long, then I cannot get to sleep at night and only have about 4-5 hours.

so 6-8 over two sessions :D

~6 most nights.. Don't really feel any different if I sleep 8-10! I'd say its even harder to wake up for work.

High blasts of artificial Melatonin and regulating when I ate.

Of all silly things to sort it. You know that feeling you get after Sunday dinner in the afternoon? That's the wave I got to catch each day or i'm up for the duration.

It's not prescribed by GPs because it is expensive and particular meds had to be imported from the states. It's not on the regular NHS approved list so they often throw other crap at you.

After years of Zopiclone, Amitrityline and gym work I finally found peace with true sunshine in a pill.
