How Much Sleep do you get per night?

according to qi people who have 8-10 hours sleep don't live as long as people who have 6-8 hours. i get 6-7.5 if i have less than 6.5 hours then i'm usually very tired.

Varies.. if i'm off work, its common for me to sleep 12hrs.. even longer sometimes if i'm really tired. On average though about 8-10hrs

A bit different if i'm at work.. I work shifts and generally I get up at the same time, so long as I finish reasonably on time (And being on an Emergency Ambulance, this doesn't happen very often!) If I finish between 10-11pm or 3-4am (Dependent if i'm on a 1000-2200 or 1500-0300, I do 2 of each in a block of 4) I normally get in and go pretty much straight to bed, I get up at 0820hrs for 10s and 1320hrs for 3s.

If we have a proper late finish (I.E 2hrs+ late, which has happened) we have to have 11hrs between shifts so I adjust my get up time accordingly :D

I do sometimes get a little kip if it's opportune at work on our break or if we manage a bit of time on standby!

6-8 depends when I go to bed but up at 4:30 every morning regardless. Seem to feel more awake only getting 6 than longer for some reason.

Ideally 7-8 hours. I love sleep and when younger would get as much as possible, but as long as I hit 7 I'm happy. One thing I do find is I wake up around 0700, and struggle to get back to sleep, no matter what time I go to bed so try to go no later than 2300.

I'm a clinical insomniac, only been free of it for past few years following the right treatment. After years of high dose Amitriptyline, a bright spark at the Neuro Science unit of John Radcliffe hospital did a House M.D on me and fixed things.

My usual is 7 hours nowadays, which is great considering I use to go up to 5 days without any sleep.

This oh I suffer so hard with sleeping, I have to drink every night to sleep.

The other night I said to the missus right am off the pop, 45 hours later and no sleep I cracked. :(

Used to sleep very little until I started the gym now I actually want to climb into bed by 10-11 oclock on weeknights and get a good 8-10 hours sleep.

if I don't get a good sleep i see it in my run times the next day which can be 10 sec per KM slower.

I usually survive on 6 hours but 8 hours makes so much difference it's unreal I'm much more productive with 8 I'd say upto 30% more and I can get faster times when out for my 10K run.

Get help. Medical help this is not at all normal but can be fixed.

High blasts of artificial Melatonin and regulating when I ate.

It's not prescribed by GPs because it is expensive and particular meds had to be imported from the states. It's not on the regular NHS approved list so they often throw other crap at you.

Melatonin is dirt cheap, I've been using it for night shifts for a couple of years. The modified release is available too.

Good job am not very ill!

I would love nothing better than to fall into bed at 11 and wake at 8 feeling fresh! :)

Usually a very good solid 6hrs sleep. Though I sometimes suffer bouts of poor sleep but that's just part of life.

I'm an early bird not a night owl.
