Been looking at the Vaillant ecoTEC plus 824 and 831 but not sure which one to go for. It will be for a 3 bed terrace house with 1 bathroom and 9 radiators. Will the 824 be sufficient or should I spend a little more and go for the 831?
Don't know, but make sure you check the serial number and make sure its not one that's been sat in storage for 5 years. They have done quite a few modifications that will cost you a bomb if you get a non modded version.
Main mod being the replacement of all internal rubber hosing with copper pipe.
They are overall a very nice boiler but I wouldn't buy one again. Vaillant were of no help when I had a problem.
On the flipside, my Vaillant boiler has (touch wood) been fault free since it was installed in 1996. Passes a service with flying colours every year. Nearly 20 years fault free.

You will be fine with the 824 but there are superior boilers in the market that will cost you less to buy.
I would recommend you look at a Viessmann Vitodens 100w 26kw system boiler. That would be my choice over the Vailant.
If you want to save even more money I would go with a Baxi Megaflo 28kw System (NON GA Model)
If you need any prices on supply of any of these goods give me a shout VIA trust.
