Hi, wondered if someone can help me.

I do not have a Xbox 360 but my sister and her family do.

She would like to be able to watch Films via a USB Stick or USB Hard Drive connected to her Xbox 360

Tonight I popped over and at one point tried to do this for her.

I have a 16GB USB Fat32 Stick with various things on it. I put 3 Films on for her. Not in folders. Just in main Directory.

2 x MP4 (films)
1 x Video Clip (.AVI)

The Xbox did not seem to be able to show us anything. Mind you, we are not sure where to look. We did find something called (I think) removable storage. But it was greyed out.

Also tried it in her Virgin Tivo Box (USB) . Nothing seemed to work there either.

Any advice would be great. Ideally. I would like to be able to put some films on a USB Stick (or external USB HD) for her so she can watch them via xBox360.

NB: Xbox360 is not connected to the internet if that makes any difference.

If I recall you need to download a media update to allow viewing from a USB.

Both file extensions mentioned above work on the Xbox 360.

This media update you talk about. How do I do that. Like I said. I know nothing about Xbox 360

God now your asking, been a long time since I done it. I am sure it asks to update once you try and play a file. You need to be connected to Xbox Live to get the update.

Also, Is your USB formatted correctly? You should be able to see the files even if you cant play them

Not sure if it is on Xbox live as they don't use it on line as it is mainly used by my nephew who is very young. My USB stick is fat32 but already has various data on it.
