Guys

This is not good news:-

To give you an example, 4790k's are now £10 more for me to buy compared to end of July early August. That's on a £200 product.

This has now filtered into our CPU pricing, it is also the reason why the next delivery of 295 X2 have also increased by £30 as we had to simply re-purchase dollars at a far worse rate for new order. :(

Not good news, need the pound to strengthen. :(

Lets hope the pound does not further weaken, it was doing such a great job at strengthening, come on UK fight this and it is no doubt being caused by Scotland wanting to go independent causing confidence in the GBP to weaken. I hope Scotland stay in the UK, them leaving will not be good for UK businesses like ourselves, but as there are no premier Etailors in Scotland for computer hardware it is also bad for them.

Quite dissapointed in the pound. The rate on the euro is doing well though.

Well was when I looked last.

Yep, unfortunately items we purchase in EURO is not many, whereas nearly all components are purchased in USD from Far East.

the rate right now is 1 GBP = 1.61744 USD, your graph is a few point low? or is that a different rate.

gbp to usd 1 GBP = 1.61744 USD

oh this explains why so many price increases have occured.... naturally just before hitting the order button !

it also explains why the use market is on fire. that and new stuff is not a massive just away from old stuff.

Prices never actually go down when the pound is stronger though, do they...

How do you think ocuk offer discounts on whole ranges of products? When placing an order 'oh look, these cost us £50 less pu than last time, we can put a £45 off sticker on them, sell them all super fast, and make a quick buck'. Rinse and repeat.

Or, order a shed load of said item, knowing you will gradually clear all the stock, and its a high enough margin item to not be bad to have it taking up warehouse space, and just have a lower price, and then keep it lower, for longer, after the dollar increases again.

lol, if it was true that prices never went down then a competitor would quickly be able to destroy them by lower pricing.

The oil thing always amuses me, I see the 'never goes down' argument time and again, yet fuel is now noticeably cheaper than 2 1/2 years ago. How could this possibly be?
