Manchester dogs home in arson attack. Dozens of dogs dead

Im sat here blubbing... i had a lovely rescue dog from there with my ex years ago, they do a great job. I hope they string the little toe rag up...

The most horrible thing is that already people are trying to say it must be a muslim "cos they hate dogs and its 9/11 innit..."

The only thing tempering my mood is the hundreds of people who have rushed there with blankets, crates, food and so on and offering to foster dogs while they somehow try to cope with what has happened.

"Hundreds of people are flocking to Manchester Dogs Home bringing blankets food and dog crate after hearing of the fire - despite a plea from firefighters to stay away.

Road off upper Conran Street are completely gridlocked as people arrive with donations for the dogs that survived the blaze.

A huge mountain of blankets has been created at the end of the lane leading down to the site, with staff saying they are desperate for food and bedding for the animals.

Many donations are now being taken to Cheshire dogs home, where it is believed some of the survivors have been taken."

Was tempted to make a thread about this myself. There really are some sick and twisted people in the world.

Should show him what it's like to be set on fire.

I don't think the killing of animals for meat is 'cruelty' providing it's done humanely. This on the other hand is barbaric and angers me massively.

Animal cruelty is animal cruelty regardless of any excuse we may have - such as a steak dinner.

I think this is one of those cases where If you've got nothing nice to say, say nothing. Well done, you wound me up, now off you pop.

Animals in an abattoir is nothing the same as dogs trapped in cages and burning alive.

While I don't disagree between being stunned and my throat slit vs burnt alive I know which one id take any day.

This isn't really the place for animal rights activists. While I do agree somewhat with what you're saying you've kinda annoyed me comparing dogs burnt alive with slaughter houses sorry :(.

Animal cruelty winds me up more than most.

Not sure the graphic video is required, I'm well aware that there are cases when the system fails. As I and other people have said, I don't personally class the killing of animals for meat to be the same as setting trapped dogs on fire.

Keep on topic.
