I do my absolute best to ensure I eat organic or locally sourced produce.
Organic or locally sourced produce is more expensive than cheaper alternatives.
Therefore, people buy it less.

But beef is still the best source of protein.
I was going to write a reply, but the above sums up my thoughts well.
The irony is strong in this thread.
OP is annoyed at the hypocrisy that he has read in another thread (So called animal lovers who eat meat).
OP starts a new topic, condemning such hypocrisy with gems like:
(Paraphrasing) "Dairy farming is worse, but I still eat dairy but feel uncomfortable about it."
Not to mention the silence regarding using products that derive or contain materials from animal waste / by products (sourced from the slaughter industry).
Damn those hypocrites in the other thread!![]()

But I don't eat much of it so the cost is irrelevant.
Well, precisely. Meat isn't inherently bad for you. But convenience food tends to be. Not for it's meat content though(though quality can have an effect, the effect isn't quite so bad as the crazy levels of salt etc that come with convenience food).everything eaten in moderation, with the exclusion of things like rat poison ofcourse, is good for you, even meat.
I don't think he even understands what I'm even talking about when I mentioned products derived from animals slaughter, as he just had a rant about dairy.
OP, I know most people have no idea just how many day to day items are made using animal derivatives, but when you want to field arguments like this, you should have at least do your homework.
Err... what?
I own a cat. My cat eats meat - he needs it to survive. But, apparently, his requirement of eating meat is my choice. He'd eat that meat regardless of if he was my pet or roaming free.
I suggest you provide your brain with some more nutrients - it's clearly not working properly.

You're missing the point on this one.
Owning a meat-eating pet (or any pet, but the meat-eating ones are relevant here) is a lifestyle choice, not a requirement. By choosing to own a meat-eating pet you are feeding the meat industry, and consigning extra animals to die to feed your lifestyle choice.
It may be less direct than eating meat yourself, but it has the same result.

I am not strictly against eating meat however, I would eat meat in a survival situation or if there was absolutely no option
Skoda, people get fat because they eat a lot of refined carbohydrates and being lazy. Meat is expensive and is very satiating, you cannot get overweight on that alone. I'm not sure if you are ignorant or just a troll, but your FUD is getting annoying.
Try reading it again, Einstein.
