I believe this is the most moral way to eat meat.

Its not about the quality of life of the animal, its about the fact that you are taking a life to eat your meat. If you are not willing to personally kill the animal, then you should question why you are eating (or feeding a pet) in the first place.

I don't know of anywhere in the UK where this is possible, but I hope to start doing it in the future.

See my 'River Cottage' comment in my first post.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall was in tears when he had to kill his own.

Don't get people that care enough to care about others basic life choices.
Don't eat or do eat meat if you want. God put animals on Earth for us to do with as we please.

Deal with it.

Thanks for that.

I am dealing with it thanks.

What I take offense at is people getting upset about 43 dogs when we live in a world of animal abuse.

Dog is worth saving? The Badger isn't?

Wonder if there will be volunteers at the Badger cull with blankets - like there was at the fire?

This thread is directly responsible for expanding the NHS bill due to putting me in A&E after facepalming with such frequency and ferocity that I became concussed.

So long as you weren't treated with any drugs tested on animals there shouldn't be a problem.

I've got a 24 ounce porter steak tonight...hmmmm I like it bloody rare MOOOOOOOO.

Vegans and veggies look like goths all pale and lifeless.

You don't seem to be dealing with it because you cant understand the basic facts that most domesticated animals are more 'cared' for than a 'random' badger.

Would you call those same people hypocrites if they were expressing their sadness over the loss of 43 human lives instead of dogs?

I wish that those people had been as upset about the child sex trafficking in Rotherham or the Police and authority cover up.

Shaun Wright should be lynched yet people are baying for this delinquents blood instead.

The worlds gone mad.

Well I'm a bit more 'mature' than that.

I judge all animals by the same yardstick, not just the ones I happen to find cute or appealing.

You know, Haggis, you are a real connoisseur of the straw man argument. I can tell it's a real passion of yours :)

What exactly is a straw man about it? Humans are after all just another animal.

If you/the op don't have an answer then just go ahead and admit it, rather than trying to divert away from the point by using the "OMG straw man!!!oneone" catchphrase which seems to appear on virtually every thread on this forum where someone doesn't have a witty retort to a point made by the opposition.

So what about all the ones stretched across the inside of your car? How'd you judge those ones? Colour or how soft and nice they feel against you?

Well if by that post you're indirectly saying that you feel that yes, meat eaters who express upset at loss of human life are hypocrites, then I can do nothing but admire you for standing up for your convictions :)
