I believe this is the most moral way to eat meat.

Its not about the quality of life of the animal, its about the fact that you are taking a life to eat your meat. If you are not willing to personally kill the animal, then you should question why you are eating (or feeding a pet) in the first place.

I don't know of anywhere in the UK where this is possible, but I hope to start doing it in the future.

What I take offense at is people getting upset about 43 dogs when we live in a world of animal abuse.

Dog is worth saving? The Badger isn't?

Wonder if there will be volunteers at the Badger cull with blankets - like there was at the fire?

What exactly is a straw man about it? Humans are after all just another animal.

I meant people have different ideas of what constitutes moral behaviour. I suspect a majority of folk would think that an animal suffering and dying for food is better than an animal suffering and dying for some numpty's 'fun' ?

Well if by that post you're indirectly saying that you feel that yes, meat eaters who express upset at loss of human life are hypocrites, then I can do nothing but admire you for standing up for your convictions
