Thread descends into I AM VEGAN/VEGETARIAN I AM HOLIER THAN THOU moral highground non-shocker.

I eat animals.
The news of the dogs bothered me.
I did not know of any news about the badgers.
I now do know news about the badgers.
The news about the badgers now bothers me also.
I feel that I am not as bothered about the badgers as I am the dogs.
I still eat animals.
I like turtles.
So what?

YOU MONSTER

So let me get this straight, the OP is lambasting everyone for not caring about killing animals for food and doesn't eat meat because he thinks it is immoral....yet he sits on a chair covered in a dead cow's skin every time he gets in his car.

Absolutely brilliant :D

Got it on my feet as well.

But I'm not crying about the poor pooches.

I managed most of one shift at a meat factory' I was almost veggie before that but now there's no way I could eat dead animals ,in the induction I couldn't watch the slaughter video they showed could just hear some horrible sucking noises and on the way out a truck full of cows was pulling up to be slaughtered, one guy I talked to said the machine that kills them often didn't .
The factory was just skip fulls of various bits of dead cow ,the floor running with blood ,it just seems so barbaric

I was going to put a picture here but there isn't a picture that would be able to properly explain what happens.

As most people already know farmers in third world countries aren't paid a lot and this effects the equipment they can purchase. Quite often farmers work with pesticides and herbicides without proper protection, and are exposed to these chemicals.

The side effects of these chemical include:
1. Cancer
2. Birth Defects
3. Repository problems
4.Brain Damage
5. Chemical damage to the environment as well as animals and humans in the surrounding area.

Lets not forget the poor working conditions and long shifts these farmers do just to scrape a living

IMO there is no moral high ground whether you choose to be a vegetarian or not someone or some animal has to suffer

I've had rabbits and chickens and killed and eaten them. I don't have a problem with it. They basically lived wild in the garden, had an area for them to sleep and some water and food about, but they just wandered around the garden. They were delicious. :D

Local butchers know where all their meat comes from and regularly go and check on the animals. In some cases can even tell me the names of the animals. Especially when it comes to the goat they sell. It comes from a tiny farm.

Got it on my feet as well.

But I'm not crying about the poor pooches.

So as far as you're concerned, the crime is just arson, and the fact that some dogs got killed isn't really important.

But I'm guessing you'd still prosecute the kid for arson. Only you wouldn't be all that bothered about the dogs.

So those kids that burned a cat alive a while back... you'd pretty much be OK with that? It's just a cat, no material damage was caused to property, etc.

Or aren't you OK with that? Because it's kind of confusing what you will and won't get outraged about :p

Nice post.

10/10.

Fair pay for workers is another topic entirely and part of my master plan.

I'm outraged about the support this has got from the general public.

The Rotherham crimes a few weeks ago spring to mind yet no one seems to give a **** about that.

Except they did. A few weeks ago. And in a few weeks, this arson will be old news too. You going to complain about every news story that falls out of mainstream public circulation?

No, you must care about everything bad/tragic that has ever happened at all times!

But what support can be offered in that case? I agree its disgusting but the people who were there to prevent this failed. Short of hiring an assasin to hand out justice what can you donate money to? I already donate a considerable amount to nspcc but they apparantly failed here/didn't know about it.

Yeah, you've lost me.
Do you even know what your point is?

I wear leather shoes.

I eat dairy - sadly, the dairy trade is probably as cruel as the meat trade, I do however source local produce and organic if possible.

No, I'm not upset about a few unwanted dogs.

I'm much more upset about farm animals welfare, systematic child abuse, culling of thousands of wild animals without adequate scientific proof that a cull will prevent TB.
Illegal wars, The collapse of the UK, corruption of police and politicians...

A few dogs?

I won't loose a wink of sleep.

Is this all this is about? You not caring that much about this thing but caring more about another thing?

Remind me to compare the new bad tragic thing with the old bad tragic thing everytime a new bad tragic thing happens and proclaim people don't care about old tragic thing because new tragic thing is new and current.

Yes, and don't you forget. If anything bad happens you must rate it on a scale of "1" to "pretty ****ing tragic", so a correct amount of remorse/feeling can be emoted on to the forums.

I did wonder what it would take to arouse the people of the UK.

Is this it?

The welfare of pets?

Is this what gets the UK public roused enough to get off their backsides?
