My two 7950's Vapor-X's came with 10cm crossfire cables, which is all good if you want the two cards sat directly on top of one another, but if you want a big space between your cards, it was pretty limited because of how far the cooler sticks out, and 12cm crossfire cables are Rare to get hold of (believe me I have looked)
This is what im talking about:

As you can see, the crossfire cable bends over the cooler, looks stupid and also the cards are in pci-e slot 1 and 2, where as I wanted a bigger gap between my cards, and theres no cable long enough to reach over the cooler.
So here is what I did:

As you can see compared to the image at the top of this post, iv just cut away the piece of plastic obstructing the path with some wire snippers, haven't done a clean job, but it doesn't matter its in a place you cant see.
And here are the end results:



Reason I did this, was for better temperatures on the top card...
Although, I have failed a little, the 3rd pci-e slot only works if you have a ivy bridge processor installed.. which I do not
