You need to "redeem" the album before a set date. It's not "on" your device, just available to stream from iCloud until you redeem.

The Twitterati have already gone bananas over this. I suspect a large pack of lawyers are going over the iTunes and iCloud terms & conditions with an electron microscope as I type this...

I thought it was the other way round. One rumor suggest U2 getting paid 100m ish. No idea how true this is, but I think the bigger picture is that every U2 album is in the top 100 and no doubt the premium (or is it deluxe) version of the album will sell too.

I don't want this rubbish on my device, they should have given people the option, then if you want it you just opt in.

At least, it didn't to mine. Maybe it does if you have it set to automatically download purchases.
