So clubbing... What the Holy Christ?!

Or go to a nice restaurant with the girl you love, then to the cinema (that's what I'm doing tonight). Heck even stay in and order an Indian!

I do all of the above, and pubs, bars, and proper clubs. Why can't someone do them all? It's not like liking clubbing means you cannot appreciate a good meal or something.

I think that rather depends on whether the good meal comes before or after the clubbing. :p

I could barely taste the snickers bar that I used to try and make myself feel less sick after I went to that club. The guy in the shop took advantage of me. 80P!

I'll never understand the appeal of clubbing. It just makes no sense to me at all.

If you like dance music, music that is made with the intended audience being on a dancefloor dancing, then it is the best way to enjoy said music.

I love dance music, and I love to dance to dance music. I listen to dance music all over the place, but dancing during my commute or at home doesn't work, so the only way to get my dancing fix is to go clubbing.

Please note, this isn't in any way linked to cheesy clubs/meatmarkets/etc, those are ALL about getting drunk and pulling. Blergh.

Having it pumped at your eardrums so loud that it physically hurts and you can't make out any detail of the music, while people keep walking into you?

Yeah, fantastic way to enjoy music. :p

I think that perhaps the club I went to were playing the music too loud... Louder than some other clubs. But I don't want to go to another club and find out.

I did it from about 13-16 (I'm a lot older looking) but then decided that there's little point in being deafened, drunk, and sick.

I'd much rather go to a pub with some mates and have a laugh and a chat.

Yeah, decent DJs in clubs with good systems won't be red-lining and making your ears bleed. I spent a good 2 hours of last weekend dancing right next to a speaker stack, and only had a mild buzzing when I got home. Also, plenty of people who like clubbing but are worried about their ears just use earplugs with a dB offset.

I don't assume that every hamburger in existence is bad just because McDonalds sucks ;)

It seems so damn stupid that in clubs and at indoor concerts, they play the music so god damn loud that you are recommended to wear earplugs so as to not damage your hearing.

JUST TURN IT DOWN INSTEAD!

I don't assume that every hamburger in existence is bad just because McDonalds sucks ;)

McDonalds hamburgers are hardly the worst in existance. If you ate one and thought "well that was a bit ****" you might go hunting for a better hamburger. If you ate one and then were violently sick and it was the most revolting thing that has ever passed your lips, you aren't likely to try "better" ones. :p

No, nor do I intend on, ever. If I hated it so much, why would I go to a better club? So that I can have an evening that I hate less? Why wouldn't I just do something I want to do?

Why is it hard to grasp this? :p

You're just one of the folk that don't do social situations well. You called the friends you went with peers. You're just different to most your age. Can tell from how you would hate a one night stand. Most 19 year olds would love that carefree stuff!

Not liking clubbing isn't the same as not doing social situations well.

Because it's completely different. If you haven't grasped that from what people have posted (several times) then I can completely see why you are the way you are.

Why is it that because I hated clubbing and don't understand why anyone would want to go to a club, and I don't want to shag anything with a pulse, people are suggesting that I don't "get out" and I'm un-sociable and what-not?

God knows what you would all say if I told you that attending a festival sounds like my idea of fresh hell, or that I have no interest in any sport, or that I actively dislike football, or that I don't find Beyonce attractive.

Not read the whole thread but please tell me you went proper clubbing and not cheesy clubbing :p as that doesn't count. :p proper clubbing is where its at where you get to see proper DJs or DJ producers who sometimes do live pa. :) stick some cotton wool in your ear and get on with it

Either way man up :p

Nothing wrong with you, OP. It just ain't your scene.

Definitely helps if you like club-style music before you go clubbing. :p

Personally, I'd rather go to a live gig and drink/chat with friends before and after. That or just a night at a friendly boozer sitting round a table with pork scratchings, ales and good conversation. Or a night in with whiskey, beer, friends and board games. Can't beat that.

Yes, but that is a little different... I have a very eclectic taste in music.

I mis-typed. What I meant was that my peers (classmates, colleagues, etc) had been pestering me to go clubbing, but the people I went with were friends and acquaintances.

Thankyou spoffle... :p

The way I am?
I have friends, hobbies, passions, tastes in various things, just the same as anyone else. But mine are perhaps a little different.

I don't like clubbing because my "scene" is more calm. I would rather sit in a comfy chair, with a group of friends, talking heartedly, while listening to some music in the background (audible but not intrusive), while we have a drink, and perhaps a bite to eat...

I wouldn't like to have a one night stand, because I value monogamy (or at least an attempt at it, whereby you only sleep with someone who you believe you could spend the rest of your life with), honesty and trust, greatly. I don't want to have the thought that my future partner has "spent the night" with hundreds of men, and why should she have to deal with the thought that I have "spent the night" with hundreds of women? I won't disclose how many sexual partners I have had (but it is one or more, I know you would all immediately think otherwise unless I specified this :p) but I do wish that I had not been with them/either of them/any of them in that sense.
Either way man up :p
You man up, and enjoy something you don't enjoy! :p

This guy has the idea. :) <3

Although I do occasionally listen to "club style music", I'm just not a fan of the club scene. They could play all my favourite songs, I still wouldn't go. :p

This thread. Its all gone horribly wrong... :p
