Can't believe I just fell for this.
Got a cold call this morning. Young woman who couldn't stop talking. Telling me she worked for a company selling toner cartridges that lasted five times as long as other manufacturers.
Offered me a free football shirt if I accepted, which then got changed to vouchers when I told her I didn't watch football.
Now for some reason I sent her an email with my printer model and the 'code' 175PC written underneath.
A few minutes later, I receive a confirmation email of ordering two cartridges at £175 each.
Quickly sent an email back stating that not once did I agree to paying £175 for anything and that 175PC could mean pieces or pence or anything else.
She phones back, again with the hard sell, at the end of which I told her to cancel the order, whcih she says she will.
Anyone else had this and any nasty surprises.
Well and truly duped
