Fable Anniversary coming to Steam soon

I see, so you would rather have the failure of the mission exist as a past event rather than as an obstacle to progress. I'm pretty sure you can retry quests in other rpgs though? Otherwise you would only get one shot at it. If the objection is to being forced to retry the mission, then I kinda get your point.

I know the mission, it's how Fable games work... Thought this was basic knowledge of the series? It's not an open world RPG, simply an old school story telling style with some basic good/bad options thrown in.

I'm having some serious issues, but not sure if it's my PC or not... The game stutters and freezes like mad in some towns, specially when wearing clothes with a lot of physx effects on. Like the dark caster set.

I need to format anyway, been meaning to for a while. Hopefully that will sort the issue.

Yeah, I don't see why I have to retry it. I find it hard to believe that it will be a central point of the story that I kill more than her. The thing I find strange is that after the mission there is even a little scene where she says that she won and you need to get better, so I thought it was just going to continue, then it told me to do it again!

It comes down to something I find to be a basic rule of a good game- You should only ever see a game over screen when your character dies. Anything else is poor design. There are some good games that do it that I can gloss over(Arkham series for a start, I was annoyed, but worked through it as they are great and the instances are very rare) but in a game that boasts such reactivity to the way you are playing it is disappointing. Having said this though, I am pretty sure it will be the only time this happens?...I mean there have been other quests that haven't gone well and I didn't have to redo them. For example, you have to race her as one of the first things at the Guild, and it didn't make me retry it when I lost!
