I have swapped my OCZ Z5 Series 650w PSU for a Super Flower 80+ Platinum 1000w PSU and it still shuts down whilst gaming, ive been into the bios and altered the cut off temp of the CPU and it still shuts down, ive ran Heavyload in conjuction with core temp and with my AMD FX-8150 all 8 cores loaded out it reached a max temp of 82c and stayed on, GPU ran maxed reached an average of 3222 fps and stayed on, no problem with the memory, but if a ran the CPU and the GPU test together at did a hard shutdown......any ideas?

Cheers

Is this the motherboard? - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-415-GI

And are you doing any overclocking?

Yeah thats the one, i`m pondering getting a new one as thats a few years old now, and no, no overclocking as i dont knoiw how haha

That still sounds power related .. I don't suppose you have an older gpu you could try do you ??

Ive got a Radeon something knocking about i can try, will do it later as in work in a few.

Cheers for the reply guys

Have a look in Event Viewer and see what it says for the time of the shut down. It may give some indication as to the cause.

WHAT, that PSU was fine.

list your full system here, EVERYTHING....
but my thinks its down to your motherboard. you cant but an 8core power monster on a budget board

EDIT:
lol a 100w psu for the system in your sig haha

Motherboard is pooh

Buy a better one with decent VRM cooling

VRM cooling like VRM cooling. It's worth to try touch radiators: both VRMs and over a chipsets = exactly in a moment of power cutoff to see if that burns (more than just hot). If burns = you've got a cause.

ive had a look in the event viewer and got a couple of error codes (7026) and (4001) just before the hard shut down

the mobo has been working well for 2 years, no problem with the 8 core cpu until now, only shuts down when playing games.

My full spec.....

AMD FX-8150, Nvidia GTX 770 4MB,
16 GB DDR3 Memory
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
3 x 1 GB HDD,
Artic cooler v2 heatsink.
1 x Corsair Air Series AF120-LED 120mm Quiet Edition High Airflow,
1 x Be Quiet SilentWings 2 80mm Case Fan,
Super Flower 80+ platinum 1000w PSU

ok, it just turned off again and the gfx card was HOT despite the 3 fans on it, if it was the gfx card that cost £300 from OCUK im not impressed

What hardware or software was installed just prior to the shut downs?
Is your mobo running the latest bios? If not, flash it with the latest update.
Have you tried a system restore, pick a date prior to the shut down and observe what if any software will be affected by the restore.
Have you also tried a clean windows install.
