Any good for 1080p gaming?

my current monitor which is an Asus VH222D seems to screen tear on games, even though V-Sync is always on. Would it happen with a new one?

Spec in my sig. Been like it for games since I built the PC.

Sorry I missed that as I was on my phone ...

how are you connected to the 280X ?

Also have you tried have you tried vsync and adaptive vsync with triple buffering ? if these had no affect have you also tried FRAPS and see if it is set to 59 fps ?

The only input the monitor has is VGA. I tried the VSYNC setting on always along with triple buffer using CCC. I'll give Fraps a try now

what FPS are you seeing when gaming ?

Sorry I didn't type what I what I was thinking in my head above ... fraps should let you see when you turn on vsync and buffering what impact it has on fps.

MSI Afterburner lets you set an FPS limit.

Using 2 IPS monitors myself (A 2560x1080 for my PC, and a 1920x1080 for my PS4), on the 2560x1080 in some games there was some IPS issues, but that was solved with sorting out the overdrive settings.

Skyrim seems ok, slight flicking lines if i look hard enough, but even when loading things on desktop it seems to happen for a slight second.

Getting solid 60FPS

Is it worth buying a new monitor. I only built this last week and the monitor set me back £40 as I wanted to invest in either 120/144hz eventually when I get right into gaming again and want a push from 1080p.

Budget is only £150 at the moment so it's doubtful.

I should mention although I doubt it changed much, it's VGA > DVI with adapter
