They haven't taken it yet, they've just put a "hold" on the funds to ensure you have enough money for it.
Sometimes you'll notice the money returns to your account. This does not mean your order has been cancelled, only that after a set amount of time the hold expires.
They won't actually take the money until it ships

No, they've taken the money.
A hold doesn't show on a statement or balance, just on the available balance/credit.

No, my money is now gone from my account now too as a "proper" itemised transaction, not a hold that gets done immediately after ordering.

I was praying for him to get it wrong lol, would have made it so much sweeter.
Probably have to wait till next month to get one. Can't seem to order the phone only anywhere online for delivery this month.
Might try Apple's metrocentre shop at the weekend although I doubt they'll have any, it's one of their busiest shops.

UK is getting unlocked contract free iPhones, but in US the contract free iPhone IS LOCKED to T-Mobile!!
The owner needs to wait 45-days to request an unlock, which can mean a month of waiting after submitting the request. Imagine waiting almost three months to use a phone that's in your hands.
Pretty disgusting.
