New to car leasing

Gateway2lease don't have any of those in stock, due in mid October. That's why I went for the special edition as there wasn't much of an extra wait. I was offered black, silver or grey for no extra cost. Bear in mind they charge an admin fee whereby smartlease do not. I preferred the black special edition but hated the red roof.

140bhp from that engine now?! 'kin 'ell.

It's unreal! The car is for my mrs but I took it for a test drive. The engine picks up speed pretty quickly when you put your foot down although there is noticeable turbo lag. I didn't drive it on an A road so unsure what it will be like at 60mph+ but I was pleasantly surprised during the test drive. All of the reviews from the likes of evo are very favourable too.

Ideally I'd have liked an ST but that would have cost an extra £1200 over 2 years, this was dirt cheap and more than adequate for her. She had the previous ST and loved it but the extra was difficult to justify.

I would encourage anyone that wants a new car to lease right now. We have the cheapest lease deals in Europe, and some of them are literally the cost of depreciation (sometimes even less).

It's unsustainable and will return to being expensive again soon. So if you want to experience running a new car without taking a £20-30k loan, enjoy this time!

Im spending about £80 on average on bits for it. Also its old and I fancy a change. Oh and it's not so good in winter takes ages to warm up.

Hahaha, 10 years old is not old.

£80 on average what, decade, year, month, week, day?

It's a diesel, they warm up slower in winter.

You're a lease company's wet dream, throwing money down the pan to them.

£80 a month, by taking time to warm up I mean the heater takes ages to warm the car even full blast and when it finally does warm up the heat escapes quickly. 10 years is old in my books. It's got loads of chip damage on the bodywork and alloys, got quoted £780 for respray and alloys. Nice to hear someone finds me sexy though ;)

He's already stated he fancies a change.

Hardly an extortionate amount of money is it £130 x 29. I'm all for leasing at the moment for people who just want a no hassle vehicle. Better than PCP deals on the cheap cars.

Sure, I'd rather spend £3770 on an E46 330ci sport but then I'm really into my cars and I'd live with the repair bills, fuel economy, road tax and insurance.

However, if the cars for my wife, I'd be getting her a brand new Fiesta on a lease deal.

Here's a Pro and Cons I did for the Fiesta 1.25i deal

On that respect I'm really thinking of getting it. Got an appointment with We Buy Any Car later this week, see how much they offer me for my current car.

If you are running the numbers in a spreadsheet, why would you then lose money by selling to we buy any car rather than selling privately?

Your cost over the next 2 years then decreases. Even if you only get another £400-500 it has to be worth the effort selling it privately!

Your maths have depreciated the used car to zero. Why? You must compare both over a 2 year period and include residual at the end.

Also how is it only 90 quid a month for a new Fiesta for 10k a year? Are you ignoring the vat?

I will try selling it privately too, but I have no idea what my car is worth so I'm going to them to get a guideline and there's no harm in it. I've seen similar cars on Auto Trader got for around £4500 with my mileage and age. Anyone know a cheap way to get a HPI check?
