Red coolant or red tubing?

This is my first W/C build and would like to have clear tube with bright red coolant (or pastel if it's better) but I keep reading about issues with dies and/or pre mixed fluids gumming up the loop or is it purely down to the type of tubing used (ie plasticisers). If going hard acrylic tubing eliminates this problem I would probably go that route just to get the colour!
Some claim to have no issues? What is the truth or majority view?

What would you guys recommend. :confused:
 
hey dude, its up to you, but I try to avoid using water only as its very hard to notice any leaks or when your leak testing you can't notice any leaks when you have kitchen roll all over the computer so I like to stick with a good quality pre-mix coolant which will last you 2 years easy, mayhems is the one, also there's only a few degrees difference but its worth the extra security you get from buying a good pre-mix, just grab some clear tubing & your good to go
 
Never had a problem with Primochill Primoflex tubing, and looks amaze with bloodred coolant, i tend to use EC6 or X1, though EC6 looks better imo.

I keep meaning to do an acrylic build, would eliminate any form of leeching and colours will look very vibrant. I've had a problem with dying clear liquid and having lumps in my res over a month+ of use, so sticking to a decent premix saves all hassle tbh.

I went with Coloured tubing and distilled water. Still looks pretty good and shouldn't clog anything up. it is harder to find out where an airlock is though if you have one.
 
If your going to use Mayhems, especially the pastel make sure to use the Primochill Primoflex Advanced and not the LRT, it will stop the plasticiser leaching ( going cloudy inside the tube ) You've chosen the worst colour of fluid by all accounts, as red is notoriously bad for clogging blocks and is near impossible to flush out of the whole system if you ever want to change your colour at a later date. Is the tube solid in colour or more translucent so you can see air bubbles?
 
+1 for the mayhems fluids.

Would recommend the pastel red as it's a lovely vibrant red colour - I didn't notice any staining however the fluid was only in the loop for 6 months before swapping it out for aurora 2.
 
Always clear tubing.
Most colored tube have problems with uv reactiveness if used with uv coolants.
I have UV pink/red and because I used red tubing, uv effect is almost invisible.
Never again...
 
I personally always go with Mayhems X1 Clear solution. Im currently using primochill UV blue tubing and a couple of cathodes and im happy with the results. Im a little paranoid over dyed fluids clogging up my bits.

That said ive also used mayhems other fluids including pastel and even aurora and neither left anything in the system. I can't really vouch for any other manufacturer as frankly I havn't needed to use them over mayhems.
