You sure about that?

Saqib Hussain was sentenced to six years in prison for causing Noreen Ryan’s death after the Audi R8 Spyder he was driving at 76mph crashed into the car Ms Ryan was travelling in, while in a thirty zone.

ED: Oh, you're talking about the Audi being towed...

Just got this posted at work. That's this isn't it?

Such a shame, if she hadn't stopped in the middle of the road and kept driving straight across he'd have either just missed her or only clipped the rear.

Of course it's entirely his fault as if he hadn't been speeding then the accident wouldn't have happened but I do wonder about peoples sense of self preservation at times, I don't think I would have stopped like that.

Is that by the Racecourse now? When I lived in Northampton there were LOADS of Barry'd up cars like that knocking about.

Yea parked opposite the White Elephant.

Therer is only a couple truly ridiculous cars I see regularly, that corsa and a black 1.2 Clio with a silly body kit.

I saw a black clio down by there, down by Carpet Market if you know where that is. Stupid body kit absolutely ruined the car didn't have my phone on me though!

Exhaust that hangs about 6 inches lower than the rear bumper in the center? Same one I regularly see, usually in Kingsthorpe

Car show in town at weekend.

I encountered a massive flood on the way back from the shops today. Initially, it was just heavy rain, nothing too serious, but then it turned into a hailstorm, at which point I drove to a petrol station and waited for it to ease off as I was worried the car was going to get wrecked.

This seemed like a good plan until I noticed the water had gathered in the forecourt and was nearly halfway up my door, so I decided to attempt an escape for home down a road that didn't seem too badly flooded.

Things quickly got worse however....

At which point I realised I was in real danger of becoming the next twoblacklines, and my plan to head home turned into a plan to just get to some high ground very ****ing quick.

I uploaded a video of some of it here - not sure why it's in 240p but towards the end you can really see how bad it was.

Turns out I should have kept recording, as a few minutes afterwards a van nearly drove into the back of me, then started shouting for me to move even though he could easily go around me. After a bit more shouting he decided to do just that - he drove around me and went full pelt at the flood, got about halfway and then stopped with a lot of smoke coming out of the engine. Instant karma :p

The waters died down pretty quickly in the end and I managed to make it home with no damage to the car. It was amazing how willing people were to drive through water that was clearly way too deep - I counted around 20 cars on the way home stranded with very angry looking people standing next to them.

Jag- 1 Floods - 0 :D
