To each his own. To me the GTV feels plenty special, and has bags of character. I'm sure that a M3 has lots of good points, but at the end of the day it's a pretty ordinary looking saloon (albeit one with a great engine). I've always fancied a proper Busso V6, that I was able to get one from an Alfa specialist with full service incl belt and water pump and 12 months ticket was a bonus.
As for reliability, given its a weekend car, that's not that important.
Bit of a wild card but the Laguna Coupe is a really unusual and seemingly nice car. Can pick up a 4 year old with 40k on the clock for some £7,000. A lot of a car for the money imo.
