Do you do this?

In the mornings there is a half mile (mostly) moving queue for junction 9 on the M27 on the inside lane. The queue is caused by the left lane of the slip road queuing for the signals at the roundabout.

Some people who want to the right lane of the slip road use the middle lane and go straight into the right hand lane of the slip road. However some people who want the right lane of the slip road are queuing in the inside lane as they would be in a normal situation.

Do you think this is a dick move?

Paint drawing to explain, my best work yet.

It's a bad manoeuvre but you can see why people do it. You're working on the basis that only people who want the sliproad would sit in the queue (thus making the left lane clear in the space after the queue) but you're potentially in trouble if that's not the case!

All it takes is one in lane one car to break around the car in front to continue on and you will be seen to have caused an accident.

See it a lot, don't do it myself however tempting it may be. In my experience the worst junction for this (that I use regularly) is the m4 East bound -> M25 junction

Yeah seems pretty stupid, would only take one car deciding to go straight on or pulling out on the slip road into the right lane and you'll be barreling into the side/back of them. Wouldn't be entirely your fault as the other person should look behind them before maneovering but moral superiority doesn't help much when picking your teeth out of the steering wheel :p

If anyone had any sense in wanting to turn left they'd go down the right, go all the way round the roundabout. Do this all the time too, people are dim :p

(assuming thus is possible on thus particular junction)

I go the other way in the mornings and from what I see all 3 lanes on your side are moving slowly.

However in the afternoons lanes 2 and 3 are at normal speeds while lane one is less than 20. but this doesn't stop idiots in the middle lane suddenly slowing down from above 60 to pull in to lane one or jump the queue at the slip road.

It might save one car a few seconds doing this but slowing down like that has a knock on effect which eventually causes standstill traffic right the way back to hedge end.

Usually the middle lane idiots don't have room to move in to lane one and come to a complete stop.
