Just got trolled by the cryptarch, purple legendary engram from multiplayer, nice level 19 blue helmet.... I wanted a purple helmet .

The last 6 legendary engrams I've had have all turned out to be blues

Finally got my first purple and it's a Shotgun.. I hate shotguns.. Shame there isn't an in game ebay like WOW.

Anyone tried the Exotic Rocket Launcher from Xur yet? Stats look good and one of the upgrades is for the rockets to lock onto the target. It's a bloody homing missile lol.

My head says I should buy the helmet and tank up more, my heart says BOOM.

I'm completely stuck on level 24. Legendary engrams are always blue. But have had two pieces of purple gear... for wrong class!! Have an Epic bounty, but can't do that as all my friends are in a different time zone (as are you lot) so I'm basically screwed. Just slowly grinding, to buy legendary, but not sure really why, as everything I need it for doesn't have match making. They've basically locked me out of the top part off this game, for no good reason. Glad I didn't buy the expansion pass. 10 years? 10 days more like.

Yeah that's why I'm in two minds. It's taken me ages to get 17 coins and it'll be a while before I have enough to buy another item.

Im not particularly impressed with bad juju, i'm still going to grind my way to its 'String of curses' skill and its stability upgrade but I don't think I will rate it much even after that.

Maybe its just me, but nothing can beat a revolver for PvE. I will probably end up getting the FWC revolver to replace my current blue one.

You need the exotic bounty for the Thorn revolver ;D

Blimey that level 20 cap comes quickly, doesn't it. I thought it would take more than a few days playing.

What's the deal when you get to 20? Just finish all missions and buy better gear? I want one of those vanguard weapons but it says I need 250 marks and I only have 6, and hardly any missions give you any, and when they do it's about 5 at a time! Gonna be next weekend by the time I get a good weapon at this rate.

Primary method of getting Vanguard marks is by playing strike playlist.

Weapons require rank 3 faction rep and 150 marks (cap is 100 per week).

End game options = PvE (strikes/raids) or PvP (crucible).

That was the one I wanted to get but it wasn't one of my choices. I've had 2 exotic bounties and I had a choice of 3 the first time and 2 the second, maybe I'm not meant to have access to the thorn as a warlock? I've not heard impressive things about any of the exotic weapons to be honest, though some are obviously better than others. It's a shame as they should be the best of the best, even though they are relatively easy to acquire(but an utter ***** to level up)

In my experience it's ~10% chance to get a purple item from a purple engram.

I'm only missing one item as a purple now, and none of mine were from randomly dropped engrams :3

So out of interest, who has been doing the exotic bounties? Just done the shotgun one (invector) a few days ago which was easy tbh and still in the middle of the pulse rifle one (bad juju) that I might finish today.

I know theres a few more out there (a hand cannon for sure - thorn) but what do you have to do to get them? Not been offered any more by the bounty hunter sadly!

I didn't like the look of the scope options on it, but I really need a primary with over 242 atk for PvE, and not able to buy from marks for 2 weeks as spent all mine so far on armour..!

I did some quick number grinding and my 242 attack revolver is better than my 267 attack Bad Juju and that's not including all the other reasons I prefer the revolver.

Per burst the Juju was doing 232*3 damage on a headshot and could empty its clip in around 2 seconds. That's 3480 damage over 2 seconds, its got a fast reload so add another second to that. 3480 damage over 3 seconds. 1160 dps.

My revolver: 1232*11, 6.2 seconds to empty the 'mag' about another second to reload with an empty mag. 13552 over 7.2 seconds. 1882 dps.

The times for both reloads are approximate, my revolver has the fast reload on empty clip perk which is why it reloads to fast.

I haven't factored in the 'String of Curses' skill here, which with the instant reload and damage bonus(ive heard its 50% damage increase) would give it better dps but that will not be active all the time. So the damage bonus and instant reload is useful on trash but it will still never be as easy to use as a revolver.

I've ignored the 10% damage bonus the Juju would get if it was fully upgraded, but I am comparing a rare weapon to an exotic, the difference between them should be vast.
