Hey guys,

Decided its time to get a new graphics card, mine is currently a 7970 matrix platinum from asus and as the title sais im toying between the 970 on its own or sli 970's or a single 980?
I currently use my tv for gaming (I know its not ideal, but I have full surround sound and 47 inch screen to play on at 1080p)

I intend to keep using the tv and will occasionally play games in 3d too, I was wondering your opinions on these cards?

I realise it may be a bit of overkill on 1080p but I can still get my current card to drop to some pretty low frame rates occasionally with everything turned to full and would like to run at a constant 60fps if its possible.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!!

Ive decided to go sli 970 from a 280x. I only game at 1080p on a big TV but the price to performance to watt ratio is too good to miss.

Why not grab one 970 now and then another after christmas when they will be on sale? I don't think any games actually need 970 SLI at 1080p at the moment.

Yeah I think the smart money is on a single 970 now and possibly another in the future if you're not cutting it with 3d on newer games.

yea a 970 this month and another one next !!!! that'll spread the cost real nice !

unless AMD move real quick it looks like goodbye to them.

Thanks for the resposes guys but i may have answered my own questio, i have a z87 d3hp from gigabyte and i think it is only crossfire compatible. So it looks like its the big 980 for me, either that or wait for amd's announcement and see how cheap some of thier cards come in.

Cheers again!
