You've nailed the differences. The Fq was launched as a slightly cut down and marginally cheaper model with the same panel but fewer ports and less ergonomic flexibility.

What about the red bezel ? I'm seeing conflicting reports about that, even images on the web seem to indicate seemingly the same models both with and without the red bezel.

The red stripe on the bezel is only found on the North American model(s), not European.

Cheers for clearing that up, these monitors really seem like a good deal from what I can gather. Especially for those willing to compromise with the monitor in favor of having a more beefy GPU.

Yes they are, really good value. :)

I've been using the higher grade one for awhile now, been extremely happy with it as a gaming screen.

I'm looking at the FQ myself, is there any other monitor under £200 that is better than it for gaming?

There are models that are, in my opinion, better for gaming. But nothing better for competitive gaming at that price. :)

I'm possibly looking at going with that or a bigger monitor for competitive gaming.

i require a monitor with speakers, they don't need to be amazing as 99% of the time i'll be using a mixamp (headphones).

what's the best monitor under £300 for competitive gaming that is 27-28" or thereabouts. preferably 1920 x 1080 main use will be console gaming (competitive) and browsing internet on pc.
