I didn't know you could potentially get one shard per public event per planet. I need about 12 of the things at the moment. Even resorted to spending strange coins and motes of light on armour from Xur just to de-construct to get the items.

Looking forward to tomorrow when the Vanguard limit resets and I can buy legendary boots to complete my set.

Should be yeah. Sometimes the world event that happens just spawns massive amounts of Vex and Fallen and it gets a bit fun! Was there grinding out the double kills with Fusion Rifles once when all of a sudden there were silly amounts of Vex spawning on us. Was a good laugh for 5 minutes, constantly throwing down supers :D

Falls apart if your loot horders go away though. It needs a group of hardcore players to stick at it for you. Most don't usually stick it for more than an hour.

Well I just tried it while eating lunch (I live near work), got a purple and 4 blues! Then leveled up my Cryptarch decoding them, and ended up with legendary gauntlets and a legendary pulse rifle! All without making any kills! :D

Maybe I should try this out as well, might actually get some use from my Vita!

It is indeed on Venus. It is just one of today's bounties. I do them everyday to get the Vanguard rep and it is more interesting than farming. To be honest, I ran into the room to recover some health as it was all getting mad outside, then had a 2 minute punchfest. Which helped as one of the other dailies is to kill so many with a melee attack :)

I can confirm this is a great spot , waves of goblins spawn in this this room in the area with the downed spaceship, it's crazy the amounts of enemy's that turn up.

And guess what I have just got my first purple drop from being there no longer than five minutes!!!:cool:

**some message pops up about the enemy have turned on each other , and this is when all hell breaks loose!

thing is comments like "no longer than five minutes" are meaningless as the entire loot drop system is random.

Its not based upon the enemies that you kill ,or your actual location. Killing Level 28 knights gives you the same chance at legendary engrams as killing level 6 ones.

Its all about killing stuff, so just pick a spot where there are lots of things to kill and start killing. But remember, no spot is better than another, and its all random, so don't expect to get a legendary engram every 10 minutes because you read on the internet somebody get one within 10 minutes of turning up.

This. Also when you do finally get a purple engram expect it to reward you with a rare item and not Legendary and you won't be disappointed!
 
I'm not sure what the time the event kicks off there or if that is even the correct event. Various sources seem to suggest that the enemies turning on each other is not the "real" event for the area. I don't think I've seen anything else happen in that area though..

There is a 'defend the WARSAT' public event that I have had a number of times while grinding the cave.

You really haven't

You get exactly the same loot from PVP and high level strikes. The whole thing is random and has no bias as to the rank of your enemy or the difficulty of the strike.

The only thing to be gained from high level strikes is the better fixed rewards such as strange coins and marks which you can use to buy better gear.

There is no worse / better loot doing any activity. Its all the same.

were you under fire at the time ? He could have been trying to help.

I usually try and pop one of these inside the circle for the "defend the warsat event" so that people can get inside it and hide when they need cover as there usually is none at those events without leaving the circle and slowing down the process.

I haven't seen another event in the commons, although I dont spend a huge amount of time there. But when the daily is to collect stuff from Venus, I think its the best place as the mobs are spawning constantly and a few chests pop up in the rooms.

Get the Destiny app on Android/iOS. It shows loads of stats, including playtime, kills, k/d in previous missions, available bounties. Tons of stuff
